wouldnt the motor still not spin if it were the contacts? im thinking it may be that the gearbox is locked up but im not sure.

yup thats what it was, i got the barrel out, no damage lucky, and the motor works so it must be the contacts. i have no clue that that could of been a problem. thanks!

Try and remove the motor from the grip. Hook up the leads then plug the battery in. After that hit the trigger and see if the motor spins, if it does not spin I would believe that the trigger contacts are bad.
