Favorite "Class" to Play

Post by Arbee » Wed Nov 04, 2009 1:29 pm

Now, I know that everybody's got a role that they prefer to play during games, and I didn't see a thread like this yet, so I'ma go ahead and make it.  If it needs to be moved/deleted/whatever, Mods and Admins alike please feel free to do so (as if you need my permission, haha)

Personally, I like grunt work, basic infantry stuff, and close quarters, even if I'm not tailor-made for it (asthma is a pain in the butt when you're trying to move quickly, and my size doesn't help, either).  There's something about being at the front and in the middle of the action that does it for me, even with the one-shot-you're-out style of play (not to hijack my own topic, but I wouldn't mind experimenting with "lethal" and "non-lethal" hits one of these days).  Nothing makes me feel better than being "right there," if you know what I mean.

Honestly, I don't have the patience to be a sniper (and don't get me wrong, I applaud those who do... I just don't, haha), and I don't have the money to be a SAW gunner, so this works well for me.  I'm currently working on boosting my stamina and losing some weight, which should be helpful in the long run.

Wouldn't mind hearing what others like to do, as well...

I am like you, I want to be where  the fighting is, not sitting in back sniping.

I prefer CQB over anything, but just for field play I act as a basic rifleman. I usually flank wide around the other team and come in from behind.

I'm planning on buying a SAW next year, though, so my tactics will be changing some.

So you like being in a base all day and do nothing like your buddy Chris? :D ;)

When GRAVE was first formed (only 5 members) there wasn't really a need for a CO,and I filled the sniper role. I was pretty decent. (Killed Angel and Gabe twice at my first game). But after growing the team, and being put into leadership roles,I learned it's impossible to be a CO and snipe. I now fill the CO/Squad leader role, by either taking point, or being located in the middle of the squad leading the 2nd fireteam. It all depends on numbers and objective.

Rifleman / ambushes.  I like hitting people right when they think they are safe or unseen.

I guess you could call me a rifleman...I like to be in the action but not on the front line...and I know that sounds like a support gunner but I have a p90 and only use semi...so wherever that puts me lol

I like to consider myself a CQB specialist. ;D but in the field i like to be the guy that is a scout. the one who is about 50 yards ahead of everyone if I'm with a big group. If i had my choice in a small group situation it would be having myself and a select few move slowly into enemy lines and take them out by suprise and quickness (Dom knows about this). Now time for my dream position. I would like me and one other person both in a ghillie suits move forward with DMRs(not sniper rifles) and wreak Havoc. ;D
I would list all the games I've been to but...I've been to almost every game since December 2007.

I am a wizard killing rogue!  Give me my back stab or sneak attack any day!

I guess you have never been on my side when I am a commander.  I do not sit in a base all day doing nothing.

I guess I am the only current Sniper/DM guy right now . . .

I don't know about you guys, but I can deal with being patient and waiting for that one amazing kill at a time. It makes me feel special.  ;D

Don't worry, there are plenty of people that fill the sniper role in SC, the problem is that most of them use stock chiclones and are thus largely ineffective.

I like to outthink, not outshoot. You can usually expect me to be behind enemy lines or on an exposed flank, concealed. I like to mow down squads from unknown positions, and more importantly I like to accomplish objectives by means of stealth and surprise rather than pissing BBs all over the place. My whole style of play relies on the enemy not knowing where I'm at, once I accomplish that, I can do whatever I choose. I also usually end up reporting a lot of intel due to my propensity to be behind the enemy, and I often end up coordinating comms between squads and players at games without an enforced command structure.
