I'm not saying that the .25s were less accurate, i'm saying they were more greatly effected by the wind. So in high wind they got blown off course more (i guess because they were moving slower)

And yeah smitty there are too many factors to really be able to calculate it. Easiest thing to do is just sit there and change BBs

As I was shown in my other thread, the tests and calculations have been done and verified back in 2006.  He talks a great deal about crosswind and it's affect on lateral bb velocity, as well as the effects of drag on the bbs kinetic energy on impact.

I would but... Its at the shop right now. Also I haven't had a chance to customize it... right now it just looks like a regular ol' PSG-1.

Don't worry it'll be one of a kind when I'm done, and I'll post pics

How's the weight distribution on the SSR? My PTW SPR Mod 0 only had an 18" barrel and it was a little too front heavy for my liking. I'm getting it converted into a CASV now since the performance isn't going to be affected.

Also, the grenadier version in the middle is badass, I always thought EGLMs were cool.

Weight on the SSR isn't that bad... slightly front heavy but its a 16inch silencer that was gunna happen. I think I'm ordering a PRS stock in the next week or 2, we'll see how it levels out with that on there..

Believe it or not, on the EGLM one, I added a block of lead to the stock to help balance it out. That EGLM with the gigantic grenades I have just weighs a bunch. The EGLM gun is heavier than the SSR actually... I haven't weighed them though

Ugh, man you're more dedicated than I am.  I'd try tying a balloon to the front before adding MORE weight for the sake of balance. ;D

What upgrades have you got for it? I'm looking for some ideas for the one I just received in a trade.

i'm sorry let me restate that.

right now it looks like a regular ol' psg-1, externally.

it has the full on FTK, (400% i think).

But its currently not operational, that spring probably snapped the tooth of the sector gear.

Hopefully i'll get to taking apart the "evil" v4 gearbox this weekend and find out whats really wrong with it.

I'm thinking about getting the 300% FTK kit sometime. I was just wondering if those kits are worth it or not, as they are really the only upgrades that are still around on most sites.

yes that kit is worth it.

the thing is, when the spring is that hard, the design of the version4 gearbox can only keep up for so long.

So my end goal for mine is the FTK, but a spring that's only around 450fps. That way the gears will hold up alot longer.

Yeah, the 300% is around 550 FPS, and the 400% spring is around 600 FPS from what I've read. Airsoft Atlanta has a PDI 260% spring for the PSG1 that should put you around 450 FPS. Here's the link:

http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/PDI_260_Spring_p/57826.htm

I've just been kickin' around upgrade ideas. I've also heard it's possible to mod a V2 gearbox to fit. You've got some really nice weapons; the long SCAR was cracking the plastic covering for the deer stand at the Airfarm.

ah was that you up there? haha ... don't say that too loud they won't let me shoot at them up there....

thanks for the link thats probably what i need to grab.

Yeah once i've messed with the V4 gearbox alot and if i get absolutely nowhere, i'm probably going to build a similar gearbox to whats in the SSR and drop it in the psg-1
