so, at airfarm i lost the muzzle break for my rifle. so i decided, if a longer barrel meant increased accuracy, this was the best way to go. what do you guys think.

EDIT: the new overall length of the gun is 1540.5mm

Not sure if joking...

If a longer barrel did mean more accuracy, that would make sense... but it doesn't. Did you actually lengthen the inner barrel, or just the outer barrel? If you didn't lengthen the inner barrel then even if your premise was true (it isn't) you would still not be improving anything.

Nor does it mean more range. The best barrel length I've found with my SPR (M160, DMR, all that jazz) was 509mm. Anything over that yielded no improved performance, and even made my groupings worse.

Well, in his defense, longer barrels do have increased fps with heavier weight bbs, because they have more time to accelerate given there is enough air behind them. But that doesn't mean it's any more accurate, nor does it justify the cost of a barrel when springs are ~$10.

to answer everyones questions, yes, i am joking. i should personally know that a longer barrel doesn't improve accuracy (the stuby m4 and all) i was just board so i took the outer barrel of my m4 and attached it to the front. no i did not upgrade or lengthen the inner barrel, but i would like to know how it looks.

EDIT: here is a picture to give you an idea of how big it is. fyi the new mesurment on the length is 5 feet 1 inchImage

if you do have an inner barrel running that whole length, you're actually going to slow down your muzzle velocity rather than in crease it, that is WAY too long to do any good...chop it down, get a PSG1 innerbarrel and find a flash hider to hide the excess. Thats about as long as you want, other wise you won't have enough compression to get any range at all.

then its a good thing i don't. and my groupings at the test range today were as good as always, low and to the left.

The question then becomes: why?? why do you have an outer barrel that long?? gah...

go for it. I'd love to be proven wrong.I'd love to see the way you get compression on something like that though...

to answer that: for kicks, because i was bored, because i wanted to see what it looked like, there are a lot of reasons .
