Here is a little bit of my work:

Matthews Armament (Weapons-Builds)

Custom M249 Ranger (Unstoppable Build):
Image
Nothing to special here in the way of Aesthetics but internally it is the most solid AEG and by far one of the most reliable support weapons I have ever seen. I built it specifically for dependability and gave it a "To-Hell-And-Back" Paintjob to accent its ruggedness.

RPK "Fakelite" Mags (Imitation Bakelite Instructional):

Here is a link to the Instructional Guide.... cheap and easy way to make your imitation bakelite mags look realistic

Custom AMD-65 Build (Real Steel Bulgarian Parts):

Parts Kit:

These DO already exist in airsoft but they are over $400 for the LCT kit and the CYMA version isn't due out on the US market for a few months, so I made my own using real steel parts and it turned out cheaper.

A few more irregular Kalashnikovs

Custom AKS-74 (Wood Treatment & Sight Rail):
Image
Image
Nothing too complicated just not an AK variant you see all the time

Hungarian AK-74:

RPKs-74 Underfolder (Commando/Shortened):

Custom MAR Build (Shrike Upper / Modular Automatic Rifle):

MAR 150rd 5.56mm Soft-Pouch (CB Cordura):

Polarstar SOPMOD Kit (Block 1, 2, & 3):

Latest Custom Build... MK48 MOD1 7.62mm SAW
FN MK 48 Mod 1 (Real Steel Reference):
Image

Custom Airsoft Version (Echo1 / G&P):

Decided to build this since no airsoft manufacturer has introduced one yet. It differs from the M249 (MK46) in that is it chambered for 7.62mm NATO and used a different gas tube, soft-pouch box mag, and barrel.

Until I come up with something else...

These parts are not on the way to my house yet, looking for anyones suggestions before I order. I will be cramming these parts into a King Arms MOE M4.

This is without the coupon code entered. with that entered it comes to 195.45 I will also hunt around on other sites but GI has the Magic Box parts I want in stock, anyone rarely does.

Shopping at one place may not be in your best interest, regardless of the coupon code.

But if you're 100% set on GI, here's some advice.

Never use a piston you can see through.
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=6246
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=5771
Both of these pistons are good choices.

Metal piston heads are bad ideas, avoid them.
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=9999
And that's only if you don't get the JG piston listed above.

It's very, VERY unfortunate that you only have those $50 13:1 gearsets available.

Getting a new cylinder is only necessary if there is something wrong with the stock cylinder.

There's another option to save money, if you have to get a cylinder.

Why are you opting for Magic Box and Echo1?

SHS double O-ring cylinder head: $7.50
?? aluminum O-ring nozzle: $4.00
Aluminum ball bearing Super Shooter piston head: $6.00 *or* Lonex POM bearing head for $15
SHS 3/4 volume cylinder: $8.00
SHS 13:1 gears: $17.00

That's $50ish (from Clandestine Airsoft) versus $114 for parts that are basically identical. I didn't put a piston on there, but there are plenty of options in the $10-15 range.

Only reason I didn't suggest parts from Clandestine is cause the gears are out of stock. They also have cheaper/better motors than what GI has. You will save more money if you go elsewhere than you will if you stick with ALL of your order being from GI.

Yes I understand the piston issue. The gets came with it but I have a few poly carb pistons sitting on my bench I can use. All the shopping at GI was just what I could find in stock, also, the savings on shipping plus the coupon code cuts quite a bit off the final price. The cylinder was put in to keep all the compression parts under the same maker as the where specifically made to compliment each other. I will take suggestions on a motor however as this post was intended for advice, as well as the gears. Thanks guys.

MAC-11 PDW I made yesterday. It's a TF MAC 11 with an M14 RIS, a walmart RDS, and an old crosman MP5 stock. It actually works surprisingly well.

I've seen much worse. At least his still looks like a gun.

Well done, Specter.
