So, who else is addicted to MineCraft?

If it's not airsoft related, then put it here.

Walls aren't really very useful since the mobs can spawn just about anywhere.

Mines are great so long as you aren't near a mob spawner. On the flip side, if you ARE near one you're also near some treasure chests.

I made a network of caves that I move through at night to avoid the mobs. so far they connect my house to my mine and bunker. I plan on filling them with water somehow  so I can move through them with a boat. Right now I'm working on a new underground passage to an island where I shall make my permanent home. Nice little brick house on top, epic mancave below. Every man needs a cave. It's science.

P.s. I have searched high and low for clay all around and in the waters...have yet to find any...

In my entire time playing, I've only found one clay deposit. Also, to fill your tunnels in a way that it will be efficient to travel by boat, you need to place the water block by block. For that you need a lot of buckets. You can also look up on youtube how to make an endless water machine. I have my own way of making it, but other people's work the same way. They're just bigger.

Might I suggest trying mine carts instead of water?

they can be but, boats are annoying as hell,
if you do want to use boats, remember water flows 7 blocks so you have to have 'step down' for it to flow another 7, so you'll have to dig 2 trenches from where ever you're going, oh and when you bust up a boat it doesn't stay a boat, it turns back into wood and sticks

install minecart mania on your box, it helps with building quick and easy cart systems

also about mobs, around your base, build a large ring of light for a first line of defense, any time you make a new batch of torches, go out to the edge of the lights and plop another 64 down, this way few mobs spawn in your general area, making you safer

I built walls because it looks awsome. Haha. You do need to have the interior of the walls well lit so mobs don't spawn inside of them.

Ya, I just let that place behind and started this one:

I almost got killed taking that photo, and then I found out about Peace mode.

I just completed a tunnel system from my house to this little shed, for movement during the night hours.

My newest project.

At the end of the road, there's going to be some sort of castle type thing. Do you guys have any idea how hard it is to build stuff on top of 8 meter deep lava? It took a lot of thinking to figure out how to build the shaft that gets down to the bottom and the road. It isn't all just floating, either. It has supports. If notch ever decided to turn on gravity, I don't want my stuff falling into the lava lake.

I personally own one of the finer castles in all of Vanillacraft, complete with subterranean farms, a library, and multiple storage facilities full of diamonds, steel, and other various sundry and valuable items.

but...

I have no screenshots at the moment.

Steevo, you are grounded from Minecraft until you get the Shoutbox back up and running as it should be.
You name a game, I've been to it.

If I've banned you, then you have more than likely deserved it.

If I deleted a post it didn't need to be there or I simply didn't like it.
