I wear these:

8 inches  ;)

Im pretty sure if your boots have "mesh" they arent goretex.  Goretex would cover the whole foot or be kind of pointless.

@Cantttype Wow, those are cool.

@Silver, I plan on getting a pair of those eventually.

I've heard many good things about the Oakley's, Travis. Every now and then Cheaperthandirt sells them on closeout for $40 or so... I'm waiting for then!

Cheapest I have seen them was from usstandardissue.com for $130.  Thats where i got my M-frames.

The Converse boots:

Are a good cheap(under $100) boot as well.  I wore them all the way through IBOLC. Miles and miles of rucking and plenty of missions. I dont think they sell them anymore but they have the Rapid Response which appears to be an improvement on the above.

Well, I'll keep my eyes open. I really, really like the Oakley's though, so I'll keep an eye out for those closeouts again.

Me too, they're a bit big, so I have to wear three pairs for them to be as snug as needed, but I like them. $10 used at Goodwill. Sometimes I wear some old black ones I have, but they suck.

I saw some jungle boots today a company is coming out with in an MC pattern on the cloth part.  ;)

For the record I roll with tank hi-top hiking boots.  They are very comfy and have great traction.
You name a game, I've been to it.

If I've banned you, then you have more than likely deserved it.

If I deleted a post it didn't need to be there or I simply didn't like it.

I wore standard issue jungle boots for years loved them except for my feet always getting soaked. I bought these about a year and half ago and haven't touched my jungle boots since.

Got them for under a $100 at the Danner factory outlet store in Portland, OR because the dye lot was off.

Those look great, Mack. I really like the fairly recent trend of combat boot styles with sneakerish soles.
