A lot of ideas sound great in theory, but tend not to pan out when implemented. It's hard enough to plan a large OP with two teams, then add to that a third faction. Now I'm not saying it can't/shouldn't be done. I'm all for the idea and think with enough planning and effort put in, even the improbable ideas can work.

I pretty sure the third faction idea has been put to bed^. Also redfox has a fairly big area to camp

how has it been put to bed? It has never been tried.. Third Faction games around here are known as the BlackWater games, in which I started. The ideas between BlackWater and GNS (Ga/NC/SC) are different.

I would put the planning into a third faction game if no one else will. Its not *that* hard.

I would love a three faction game. With the proper planning, it could turn out to be one of the best games in the nation. Just imagine two large teams duking it out with a smaller third team roaming around performing hit and run raids on the first two teams. Like Felix said, with the proper planning, it would be a great game.

Think of it as Two large teams coming down on the village of the smaller third team, third team raiding the others while protecting itself, and the larger teams fighting each other as well as protecting themselves. There is no roam for any team.

If you settle on a 3-way (that just sounds wrong), you'll need careful positioning (geographically, on-field) so that team 1 is not sandwiched between teams 2 and 3, and that each team kinda has equal opportunity to wail on each other. Equidistant triangle style, if you will. Anything that effectively funnels or blocks access can interfere.

If you do a 3 faction game what would you do about camo? Green, Tan, and Civilian?

Probably the hardest thing to figure out would be what camo each faction would wear.

It would be something like Alpha-Georgia with woodlands, Bravo-North Carolina with multi cam and desert colors, and Charlie-South Carolina with black, civilian, and ACUs.

Fallout and several others have stated the fact that three factions are almost always better in theory than in practice. Most of the other Reps will tell you, I am often the one that advocates against three factions and over complication. Lots of things sound great in theory, but fall apart in practice. The scenario that I came up with concerning RF and this three faction game mitigates the confusing factors that often cause three faction games to devolve through different means, one being that the third faction (SC) is divided into smaller groups that are inherently tied to the control of certain portions of the field. In fact, Felix's suggestion came close to my scenario. So, while I'll be the first to tell you that three faction games can and do go awry very quickly, know that I bore that in mind when designing this scenario specifically to keep stability and prevent the usual 2 vs 1 or utter chaos.
