Waiver change?

Post by SunTzu » Thu Feb 28, 2013 7:55 pm

Could one of the admins add in "other participants" to the list of releases in the standard waiver? See, my dad is a little overly worried about being sued, he has always been that way, so I am currently limited to going to the swamp and tryger tyme (if they ever hold airsoft games there again), both of which list other participants as one of the releases. Correct me if I am wrong of course, I know nothing about you legal set up, but it seems like it would be pretty easy, and protect your other participants from lawsuits also.

Well then if your right and it doesn't matter anyway, I'm sure they would have no problem changing it, considering this would be a huge favor, even if they don't really know me that well.

I have no idea, he is just really kind of worried about it after reading the waiver. It really doesn't maker much sense to me.

The primary function of the waiver is to absolve the land owner, and any and all representatives of the AOSC from responsibility should anyone get hurt whilst participating in an airsoft event hosted by the AOSC.

Yeah, I understand that from reading it, and i have no real problem with that, other than that my dad won't let me play at any AOSC games again after reading it. I was just hoping that you guys could add that bit in, and there was no real harm in asking, so i did. If there is no way this is going to happen, I will just catch you guys next time there is a swamp game.

If need be, I can talk to your dad about how the waiver is. You live in the charleston area right?

Thank you, but I am 99% you wouldn't be able to convince him, he is quite stubborn about such things. I was just asking in here I the aosc would change thief waiver to be more like the one from the swamp, since I really loved going to the aosc game and was looking foward to TDC 2. But it dosn't seem like that will happen, so I will just stick to the swamp till I am 18. Thanks to all of you who responded and considered this though.

I missed this thread the first time around. I'll bring it up with the rest of the powers that be.

I don't think your father understands the purpose of a waiver... his liability is not what is in question. The waiver doesn't protect your father regardless of how it is worded. It protects the landowner and the staff running the game. Have him give me a call and I will be happy to explain. (803) 609-7681.
