Interest in a Team Challenge

Post by Gambler » Thu Jul 25, 2013 2:40 pm

Since it's so hot in the summer and we do a lot of skirmishes Ajax was considering holding a team challenge with 4-5 events. Teams would rotate through events or play OPFOR for other teams doing the challenges or Ajax will be the OPFOR. Before setting it up I just wanted to gauge interest in it.

Depends on when/where it is, just remember to somehow make it clear who is supposed to engage whom ;).

Teams are for people who need to pretend they have friends.

At least you realize you don't have any. ;)

You engage anyone that is not on your team. Each of the lanes will have clear objectives to complete.

Sounds like fun to me. Any chance it could be on a Sunday? I work every other Saturday, and it's very hard to get one of those Saturdays off.

If you could create a Op Order, I do believe I could get the Savannah Reapers to join in.

We're down for this, could implement several challenges too maybe?

A marksman challenge, hostage challenge, sniper challenge, just to see what teams are the most "complete."
Just my thoughts, but yes I'm down for this.

How many teams are we looking at so far? 3?

Also, marpat, Marksman challenge, and a sniper challenge? I think that's basically the same thing, perhaps you should pick up an M4 and do something else for a change, I think sniping is twisting your mind :p

Just because the title is team challenge doesn't mean you have to be on a "team". Lot's of time, people go to a game and just start running with different people. Are they a "team"? No. So if an individual wants to come, that is fine. We will makes teams for those that are not on a team.
Some of the challenges would be like attacking a defended position, patrol from point a-b, evade capture, and so forth.
If there is enough interest, we will sit down and make up 4 or 5 different stations to go thru. Marpat, the idea of a "marksmanship" course is being discussed. It would be a timed event, with the shooter moving from target to target.
I love the Corps for those intangible possessions that cannot be issued: pride, honor, integrity, and being able to carry on the traditions for generations of warriors past.  [Cpl. Jeff Sornig, USMC; in Navy Times, November 1994]
