Radios will never happen. Because you have people who have 100$+ radio systems and then 5$ radios, if at all.

If you guys want a turnout like tdc, you better be ready to put in the time. When all was said and done , videos, calls, multiple forums, I had over 400 hours into tdc.

that's my point anyone can afford a $5 radio. like east wind. have the required
equipment or don't play. I don't mean to sound harsh, but with that many people communication is key.
for few reasons
1 rule.modification
2 objection to be completed.
3 I'm sure theirs something I missed

So you bump it 11 hours after the last post? Marpat, no, just no. The thread won't die in 11 hours, it won't die in 24. Don't be too excited.

Re: Operation GNS: Georgia vs. North Carolina vs. South Caro
Too many radios can be as bad if not worse than too few, especially with little or no radio discipline.
The FRS/GMRS radio net will be an unmitigated CF with 400+ players using it, stepping all over each other, talking about when is dinner, did you find my lost magazine, VOX on transmitting every wheeze, gasp, and motor whir, call signals endless beeping and chiming. It always is (at any similar size event), and cannot be relied upon except on limited use reserved channels (i.e. the ref/staff/admin channel(s), and even then I've seen it break down, people using them for general commo). Some of you guys know exactly what I'm talking about (ahem, Fulda Gap, Irene, Oklahoma Invasion, etc). So it cannot be relied upon for giving out useful, timely information with so many players. This is why many now use the Icom, Wouxan, Yaesu, and similar VHF sets, to get off the 'public' channels full of noise.
A more workable plan is to have pre-written missions, in sealed envelopes, given to command staff at queued times by an assigned admin (who simply accompanies them about and acts as their admin liaison). From there they can disperse the info as they see fit, up to and including radio (or in person, or whatever). Head admin decides its time for Team 1 to execute mission #46B, they call their staffer at Team 1 HQ, and tell him to hand out mission #46B. Packet changes hands, Team 1 CO reads it and takes action. Let's say it is a "search and recover" type mission. It's up to Team 1 CO to successfully communicate with his/her troops. So Team 1 goes out and tries to recover some item X within Y timeframe. If/when it comes back to HQ, the staffer reports that in along with the time and the head admin notes it as a success (or failure, if too late).

Here is an idea to make the game worth while. Make the game a charity event. All proceeds go to a specific charity, like Still In the Fight, or any military charity. Whichever field is decided on, try to get the owner to waive his part so all money goes to the charity.
I love the Corps for those intangible possessions that cannot be issued: pride, honor, integrity, and being able to carry on the traditions for generations of warriors past. [Cpl. Jeff Sornig, USMC; in Navy Times, November 1994]

Fallout is dead on with the radios: those who were at Fulda know: when most people only have basic FRS radios you end up with way to much traffic for those 22 base channels. Now some teams, like ODA105, have invested in more expensive VHF/UHF radios but you can't expect everyone to do the same.
