Gun Purchase

Post by MrJoseph175 » Thu Jun 20, 2013 6:16 pm

Question, I'm new to airsoft outside of backyard games and wanted to know what the best airsoft retailer is in the upstate area. I've been to battlecats in Anderson and their guns look good (the only brand they sell is Echo1 and from what I can find there a good brand) but I just want to be sure before I drop 250 bucks on one. Just a note, I dont want to buy one online I'd like to purchase it in person thats why I'm asking for advice on here. Any info is helpful, Thanks.

the only advice i can give you is to pick a style of gun, m4, ak, what have you, and then decide what you want it to do. your best bet IMO is to get a body style you like, see if you like how it feels, and then decide what you want it to do.

the very same fn2000 could be a 280fps plinker with 50ft range or it could be skywalkers that punches thru metal and breaks teeth at 100ft.

at this point cruise forums and youtube to pick out parts. those same places have tutorials and videos on upgrades and repair.

bottom line is if you learn how to work on them, you can end up with a Holy Crap Gun that you paid $300 total in, or you can buy a gun for $250 stock.

there is something to be said for online retailers, once you know what youre looking for. ive seen people buy their first gun online and dang near quit because it wasnt what they thought.

for a first gun, that performs well and helps you get an idea of what you REALLY want to match playstyle etc, i would buy one from here, so that you can discuss how the gun ACTUALLY performs vs how its SUPPOSED to. also you can clarify things and some folks will bring sale guns to games and you can hold it, which is a HHUUUUUGE benefit of in-person sales.. a few come to mind. Check out Airsoft Carolina up toward Asheville. They have a bit better selection than Battlecats.

Here is their very complicated website: http://www.airsoftcarolina.com/

Depending on what part of the upstate you're in (Sparkle City), Airsoft Carolina may be closer to you than Battlecats

battlecats airsoft arena is the best airsoft store in the entire south east united states of america.

echo1 is the best airsoft brand money can buy.

combine both of these facts and you are good to go.
