We are talking about maybe a game at SQA, in a few months. Let everyone who wants to participate have time to put a decent amount of money into it. I will let everyone know when we pick something for sure

Bump for my gun! Just finished re-doing the wood. G&G puts the worst stain on their guns I've ever seen. Anyway, I will be installing an ER hop myself, and use a barrel lapping kit on the barrel. Also, I'll be switching to a dual stage air rig

The stain looks really good, but a little redish; that could just be me though (or the camera). The only thing about it that doesn't seem sexy is the scope.

The picture doesn't do the wood justice. In person, it looks better than most real guns, and the grain is astonishing. Personally, I don't like the scope either, but I can't find a better one made for the gun

that scope is correct for a KAR98k, but so is one that is placed in a more tractional spot. Give me a sec and I will find one for you. Please do not bubba it.

edit-------------------

after further review that scope is in the correct spot but not the correct style scope. The correct one is called the Zf41 and Zf42. It was a 1.5x zoom scope. It was issued to marksmen's and better than average shooters.

The one you are probably looking for is called the Zf39 and was a 4x optic. It was issued to the way above average shooters and was the "sniper" optic.

Zf39 repro scope and mount

Due to the price of even the repro's (although really really good repro's) I would say unless that scope fails to do it's duty, just keep it. But please for the love of God do not bubba a KAR98k.

Yeah I figured, I have often seen pics of wood grain that looked too red or not great, but then saw it in person and it was awesome.

Haha thanks, I did a bit of research myself on it. That scope retails for $360 on EBay, so I think I'll just keep what I have... I'll sell the gun in a few months anyway. I can't keep a gun for long :-\

Today's word of the day is:

Lovely

It means good, happy, or someone may use it to be frustrated.

No, but it's good to build out a bolt action cylinder with parts all from the same manufacturer.
