Mosfet problem?

Post by Mad Magpul » Sun Jan 26, 2014 11:17 am

Ok here is my setup:
Extreme Fire Cheetah 2N Mosfet
Lonex A2 motor
SHS 18:1 gears
11.1v 25c 3300mAh LiPo
Systema M150 spring

Problem:
When I set the mosfet to Safe-Semi-Semi I will pull the trigger and the piston will only cycle 3/4ths of the way. If I pull the trigger again it will fire and cycle back 3/4ths of the way again. This occurs many, many times. Heres is a video of it. (Don't forget to turn down your speakers)

Next I factory reset the mosfet to Safe-Semi-Auto and 85% of the time it works perfectly normal but occasionally it will start again like mentioned above.

I am 90% sure its not friction from the shimming because the gears spin very smoothly with little movement on the axes. But because of this I can't think of anything else that may be the problem. Does anyone know what could be the issue or how I should go about this? As always any help is appreciated!

I would be sure that your first 5 shots are very clean, consistent shots. It's important that you do complete trigger pulls for the mosfet to learn what it needs to do for semi auto. If those are messed up, the whole system can suffer from it.

^ I have learned this with my fn2k with a lion on cheetah software. I didn't realize that they had to be simple, clean shots, and was firing as quickly as possible because the trigger response is glorious. As a result, I got lots of overspin.
