It's fairly simple; the idea behind it is that if people are not able to reload their magazines in the field, they are far more likely to attempt to conserve ammo instead of using paintsoft-like "spray and pray" tactics.

From a practical point of view, there's really nothing to stop you from carrying speedloaders and BBs with you and reloading at the spawn point. Since you're very likely to be at the spawn points multiple times during the day, you probably won't run out of ammo in the field unless you're really dumping ammo all over the place.
Star_folder wrote: Will people using DMRs also be sent back to respawn if they reload on the field?
That's another question for Garrett specifically, but I would be inclined to say yes. Most guns considered DMRs have a mag capacity of at least 100 rounds, whereas most bolties are lucky to get 25 rounds. Again, though, this is up to Garrett so there is no need for lots of discussion here in the thread. He'll answer the next time he gets on.

Guys to cut back on confusion if someone asks a question regarding rules please allow the Game Coordinator to answer the question.
You name a game, I've been to it.

If I've banned you, then you have more than likely deserved it.

If I deleted a post it didn't need to be there or I simply didn't like it.

Steevols answered this correctly.

Well, technically, we all have to come to the field.

So, it's more like, "Georgia, here we meet!" than "Georgia, here we come!"

Sooooo back tracking here, when is the AOSC goin to change the rule about ARs with c-mags? Since the USMC has been using them for 6 years now, I think we're a little behind.....

*take note I said c-mag, not drum or box mag.

That does not make it a support weapon, just like G36cs with Cmags aren't support weapons. Sustained fire is what differentiates between aussualt rifles and support weapons, not mag capacity.

We're not. In recent years the USMC tested Beta C-Mags and several other medium capacity magazines along with "Infantry Automatic Rifle" platforms (HK IAR/416, LWRC, etc) in an attempt to replace the M249. These all stagnated in development, partially due to concerns that an assault rifle could never replace something like a LMG. No quick change barrel, no linkable ammo belts for fixed positions, and so on.

The HK M27 was technically officially approved last year, but the actual integration in to the USMC has been sluggish to say the least. The Marines I've talked to who get back from overseas all say that nothing really compares to a real support gun.

Long story short, the only way you're going to get away with calling an M4ish gun a SAW would be to somehow build a M27.

I like this answer better than Henry's, lol. Ok, I will accept that answer for this game. I would like to move this to a seperate thread so as to not crowd this one.

Fair enough, feel free to start one. I'll leave this stuff here for the sake of the previous posts about support guns.
