I think it's just BS. I mean, if the myans were so good at predicting the future, there would still be myans. What are your opinions?

There are still Mayans. Their advanced civilization did not survive, but in the Yucatan and surrounding areas, there are descendants of the Mayans.
As for the end of the world in 2012... the Mayans never said it was the end of the world, just the beginning of a new era, so basically restarting the calender from day 1.

Too bad they had a ten month calendar and no leap year. This would have happened hundreds of years ago

I'm pretty hopeful, because as a friend pointed out we'll be able to drive as fast as we want on either side of the road. Missed your exit? Psh, hop that curb!
