Der, I knew that, I've heard some funny Cold War stories about Russian intel ships sitting right off the coast, and what the Navy would do to distract them

No, I never make fun of the Navy. It was on the internet and I just thought it was creative (and I have to admit, funny). I believe it was on some army guy's blog.

y'all should have seen the "stripper boats" when we came back from our first WEST-PAC. mucho controversy....wives ...kids on the pier and strippers doing many obscene things on private craft...good times.
they were banned(strippers...boats) after that

We came out of port Canaverial once on the surface, ahead full on the diesels, while a Trident submerged beneath us in order to lead a Soviet Intel ship away so the Trident could sneak into the North Atlantic. Sure enough, the Soviets followed us out to sea for miles and the Trident slipped away. We could see the Soviets on deck and they were so confused when we turned back to Florida.
