I tend to agree with that saying, especially when it overcomplicates things. However, all I am wanting to do is give people more options and more opportunities. If you and Stephen and anyone else choose to only go to the four fields we play now, then that will be fine; this will not stop you from doing what you have always done. What it will do is allow those who want more to get it. I see no downside, especially since I can change it back just as easily if people don't like it for whatever reason. Is there any reason you two see not to give it a shot?

I for one appreciate what you are trying to do Dom, this will require a lot on your part. I look at the game schedule to see what is coming up and make plans according to two factors. First is of course financial, not really the cost of the game rather if I have the finances at that time. Secondly is the distance from me. In todays economical times I have to consider all costs associated with making a game. A third factor for me personally is current physical heath. I am having some problems that I am trying to get answers and treatment for. For this reason it has kept me from attending some of the bigger OPs as well. A group of us (who now are all good friends) have come together and play locally. We have good times and good food. All I can say is that if I can attend a game I will be there.

Don't take me wrong Dom, I like the idea, I'm just not sure I'd make it out to more games. I would very much like the variety of fields though.

No I like the more fields idea. I just like the bigger games every two weeks. Add field variety to that and it would be very nice. But you can already tell people are like well why go to X location or field when the game the third weekend of the month is going to be close to them. There isn't any reason not to try it tho... Maybe over the summer when I am gone

Having 8 fields would be really cool. However, if you increase the number of the fields the quality might go down. Instead of spending the time acquiring new fields, you could spend the time and money adding new structures, cleaning up, and modifying the 4 existing fields. You could take care of and make awesome the fields you already have before moving on.

While I would love to do that Esteban, I am not in a position to dump a few thousand dollars into each of the fields we have now with a very long term return expected, especially considering that it may never be realized. I am sure the field owners would love me to do that though. I am, however, trying to convince them of the virtue of putting more money into their fields. The difference between the two (what I am suggesting and what you are suggesting) is that what I suggest will require a major time investment, and some monetary investment. I can do that. What you suggest would require a major monetary investment (and I wouldn't own what I invest in), and a time investment as well. Unfortunately I am not in a position to do that.

Clarification:
Who shoots $20 worth a BB's at an average airsoft game?

This isnt a new concept. In fact, this is how AOSC started out. Does anyone(Gambler, Garrett, Grim, Green Ninja) remember the weekly games at the various fields around Newberry(Airfarm and that park)? We always had at least 10 players there on the days that I showed up. These games had the reverse affect most people are saying and instead of diluting the player base with too many games they ignited it and made people want to go to the bigger OPs.

Proposal:
A trial period could not hurt!

What might help in this argument is paint-soft games(capture the flag, defend the case, force on force, ect) on the off weekend and OPs 1-2 times a month. It would not impact the normal flow of games it would merely be an added opportunity for people who cant make it on the weekends that the current games are scheduled.

Being that these off weekend games are paint-soft quickies just for fun, they could be hosted are low cost/free venues and in turn reduced to <$11.

As far as field upgrades, start saving up pallets. This is probably the best way to upgrade a field for free. And if the field ever goes away you can have a bond fire. I collected truck loads when Wellford first started.
