BOOO

Go big or go home! Im running a 2.1 amd quad at 3.8 and its just fine! I mean sure, the fact it seems to bring my room temp up to 85 degrees in the summer could be an issue, But still, GO BIG OR GO HOME. 10 percent is for pansies! I bet Star_Folder only would do 10 percent, and he is a pansy!

Haswell is notorious for getting hot, so without a sufficient cooler, 10% OC might be all he can manage.

If he doesn't have anything but the stock cooler, he shouldn't be overclocking at all. That's asking for problems. I assume since he said overclocking, hes running an aftermarket fan or liquid set up, and with that, I would think 10% is being way too conservative.

Depends really. A slight overclock with no increase in voltage often times has no impact on temps. The i5's already have built in turbo boost. This one in particular to 3.8 GHz.

True, but the turbo boost iirc is only on one single core. Granted, I am an AMD/ATI guy, so I haven't worked with sandy or ivy, or even haswell. But my laptop is the first gen i7, and the turbo boost is only on one core. Is it still the same with Sandy, Ivy and Haswell?
