good starter scope

Post by stormchaser1 » Sun Jul 11, 2010 5:46 am

What would be a good stater scope?  I got a free one with my rifle witch I don't like (NC star) because you need a screwdriver to adjust the elevation.
Thanks

Just carry a quarter or some other coin that fits in the slot with you in the field. It should allow you to adjust the elevation easily enough, although I can't see why you'd really need to do that.

well, now the cross hairs broke today, so now i need a new one. I dont even know how either.  Would a scope made for a real rifle work, or should I go with a airgun/airsoft one?

You can't go wrong with the Leapers brand. They have, perhaps, the finest optics and quality in their price range. You can find a scope in their lineup to fit your needs, I would recommend variable magnification like a 1.5-6 or a 3-9 so you can have a wide field of view when necessary (locating bad guys).

get one with mil dots.  Center point makes a nice one for about $60 at walmart.

Correct, forgot to mention the mill dot. It really helps with hold over and windage, takes the guess work out for sure.
