Which would you rather have?
This is my question:
Would you rather go to a game that has a higher playing price, but includes items like: T-Shirts, Patches & Raffle
Or
Would you rather go to a game with a lower playing price, but does not have any additional "goodys"
This is concerning larger, "named" Ops, not the pick up and play type of games. Think: Deep Scar, White Noise, OP24, etc.
To clarify, I'm talking a price difference of $20 for no additional stuff, versus $35-$40 for additional stuff.

Well I paid 95.00 so I could play in WV, plus have to drive. I do get a t-shirt from it and a few other goodies. If the game is good and well organized, then YES, I would pay more. I think most of the players that could afford it would go for it also., IMO

The way I figure it, if it's a good game I'll play regardless. But, if paying an extra bit (nobody really knows the true price of a game anyway) and getting a free shirt and patch to rep my sport, and the potential to win something cool like a new gun, I'm all for it.

I like getting souvenirs, but I wouldn't be able to afford always paying an extra $20 to play a game of airsoft. Going to games for me would involve extra costs including a heavy fuel bill, lodging, and food. I know I'm a minority, but that's my 2 cents; .
Then again, I don't get to too many "big games", so I'm all for getting a patch and a T-Shirt for a little extra money.

Right, that's why I put in a couple of examples of the larger, semi-annual ops that we run. Games that don't come around too often, so it's nice to give people a little more incentive to attend.
Re: Which would you rather have?
I would be up for that.
You name a game, I've been to it.
If I've banned you, then you have more than likely deserved it.
If I deleted a post it didn't need to be there or I simply didn't like it.

That's all pretty cheap either way. Back in the Pacific NW games usually start at $35 and go up from there. Average I used to pay was $45. That got me on the field and entered into the raffle. Camping was usually an extra $10. The $100 events are what came with t-shirts, patches and so on.

Re: Which would you rather have?
Having played a lot of big games and small ones i still can not decide. I like going to big games to do things small games can not ie: riding in a helicopter, playing in two different MOUT faciltities, riding in M113s. These can not be done at a small event, and I have had to drive upwards of 12.5 hours to do one of them. These games were worth their cost and I would attend again.
On the other hand I have just as much fun playing with just friends in a game with only 40 people and only paying $15. Maybe I have just as much fun because it is only friends or because I do do the big games in between? I can not live on back yard airsoft alone.

I like a mixture of the two, a couple of the more expensive in a year, and a bunch of the cheaper kind.

Re: Which would you rather have?
the most FUN games have been the free - 5 dollar range....the most INTENSE have been the 10-25 range...
it seems the bigger the games get, the more problems seem to occur. Now when u start paying BIG money...the crowd seems to get mroe specialized and you are playing what u paid for. t shirts/deadrags/patches are nice. but mostly playing with your friends and rivals is the most fun.

Re: Which would you rather have?
From my experience, a higher price tag doesn't always equate to a better game. T-shirts, coins, etc., are all great incentives for a higher price tag, however, the price tag could probably be lower if these incentives weren't offered (i.e., cost of the shirts). Most of the games that I've played in SC have been around $20, which is a bargain, especially considering that Robin and I normally had prizes to hand out (AEGs, pistols and such).
So to answer the inquiry, I prefer the lower price tag with a great game.

Re: Which would you rather have?
I don't care much about T-shirts, patches, and raffles, but I would pay more for stuff that adds to the actual game like fireworks, props, actors, etc.
I would rather not have the extra stuff but have a lower price, considering that airsoft is already an expensive sport, and things like T-shirts are nice to have, but don't really add to the actual game, and aren't really necessary.

Re: Which would you rather have?
Gotta agree with you there, I don't mind paying a higher price for a more exciting big game every now and again. Went to a few at west point and the cadets would drive us around in hummers to objectives while setting off explosives and firing blanks from SAW's in the background, made the game really fun to be a part of....of course having the resources to do that can be a bit tricky. But airsoft is airsoft, if its a good day of shooting i don't care what I pay.Doublewolf wrote: I don't care much about T-shirts, patches, and raffles, but I would pay more for stuff that adds to the actual game like fireworks, props, actors, etc.

Re: Which would you rather have?
Just like everyones said, a good game is with friends and is cheap. But with more money comes the better stuff like the raffle, tshirts, and so on. I also think that maybe taking some of the money and putting it into a pot for other games would be good. And when i say that i mean save up so that we could have transports, implaced guns, trenches, and everything else that would make it a greater game.
For those that say they have a budget, this isnt like buying a new gun, its like taking your jar of pennys with you to the game. an extra 5-10$ per person is a huuge pot afterwards. Im all for raising the price, and thats my two cents.
