I think since it's been so long since I played. I'm going to start off with a lower cost gun. I'm thinking of the G&G R16 Carbine. I found a package deal which includes smart charger, 9.6v battery, 4,000 bbs, and an extra mag for $261 from trinityairsoft. Which is all around the same price for some of the other guns. That way when I show up to a game and get my butt handed to me I won't be even more ticked I spent a lot of money for nothing. Of course the opposite of that is I get hooked again and start a small gun collection with the higher quality you guys listed. Feedback on this one?

G&G's are solid guns, though I've heard of quite a few people having wiring issues. If I were you, I'd spend about $50 more on a VFC. (Gun is about $250, so another $50 would get the other stuff).

Definately. I wish I had. I have a G&G, and I had to put at least 50 bucks into it so far. It still doesn't work correctly. Wires are a pain, and G&Gs are known for having bad ones. Get a Vega Force.

^^^^ cant stress what they said enough...do yourself a favor and get a high quality gun first...you'll be much more ticked off when you have to repair a new gun as opposed to getting shot at your first game...trust me

I have a G&G and I haven't had any problems with it in almost a year and a half other than the wiring.  I had that changed and it has worked like a champ ever since.
You name a game, I've been to it.

If I've banned you, then you have more than likely deserved it.

If I deleted a post it didn't need to be there or I simply didn't like it.

VFC M4:

Charger:

Battery:

I have that charger and that battery, and they work fine. You'll be glad you bought the gun, too, rather than some cheaper gun that you have to spend 100 bucks upgrading for it to be half as good.

The 416 is cool, chef, but adds 100 bucks, so it's a little out of his price range, I think. He needs a battery and smart charger too.

On GI, you automatically get free shipping, and "tim" or "hot" coupon codes get you 10% off.

extra $100 saves buying a rail system and all the extra junk you buy to trick out an m4... ;D
plus its cqb length and if he needed longer range, pop in a longer tb and add supressor, then hes uber hk tacticool

Doublewolf, I did reconsider I will probably go with the VFC thanks for the help, really good information.

Chef, you're $1 dollar under my budget with that rifle, lol.  I'd like to have a few other things along with my rifle.  It will probably be a future purchase.

If you are still looking for magazines, I can't recommend these enough:
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=6159
http://cgi.ebay.com/Airsoft-MAG-STANMAG-Style-190-Midcap-Metal-M4-M16-Rare-/140482154559?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20b563903f#ht_500wt_1156

190 rounds means you carry nearly two thirds of a generic hicap, and they are solid as a rock. They're hard to find in stock because they're so popular (only been out for a couple of months), but they're worth the money.

You read my mind steevo. I was actually going to ask that, I didn't want to buy a mag with a lot of wobble. Plus I've always liked to run mid caps because I do like a little realism. If it was up to me I'd run 30 round mags.  Will those actually fit the M4?

They fit *my* VFC M4, and VFC has very high tolerances. So... yes, they should.

I have a VFC E Series M16 and a KWA M4A1 2GX.  In my opinion, you can't go wrong with either one.  I have had several lower cost AEGs and they just don't compare to the VFC or KWA.  VFC has a little better externals, but KWA is also nice.  Extremely solid guns and I recommend both.  Very good accuracy and FPS right out of the box.  I personally have had no problems with the hop-up in my KWA.
