Your most essential piece of gear

Post by BigMan23 » Mon Oct 04, 2010 9:22 pm

Hey guys, I was wondering, outside of your airsoft gun, what is YOUR most essential piece of airsoft gear?

Excluding EyePro and the other necessary bits that are required to even be allowed to play:

Camo. Yes, there are contractor loadouts out there, but a good set of military style camo goes a long way in looking the part of a true airsoft player.

Slates dead on, Camo is basically the only other thing you need outside your airsoft gun. I mean a tactical vest is amazing and useful to have, flashlights, NVGs, and other little things are amazing, but to play a good game all you need is camo and a gun.

Sling. If you don't have a good 1-2 point sling, you have no idea what you're missing. If you do have one, you'll probably agree.

Drum mags, don't leave HQ without them.  Of course, having them makes it essential to carry 12000 round on your person at all times.

I do it, why shouldn't you?

I agree that certain guns benefit from slings.  With some lighter guns, they tend to just get in the way, though.

Dump Pouch. When I run my DMR I drop my mags in there but when I run my SAW I use it to store my extra ammo and or extra box mag / batteries

id say my vest.  with my ammo, water, map, flashlight, batteries, and back up weapon all in one place, you cant go wrong with it.  Id say my sling comes in second.  I use a decent 3 point, and it makes maneuverign easy, cause i can just swint it outta the way when ineed to climnb a hill or something.

Hydro pack, I'd die without my water. (Quite literally)

My vest. I can store everything in there. A sling helps, but I don't use a sidearm, so it isn't too important, and camo looks cool, but it isn't a necessity.

For me it would probably be a radio. Nothing is better than being able to call for back up when your in a tight squeeze. My second choice would be my running shoes. I tried combat boots and such and they destroyed my big toe..mainly because my two toes are slightly "different" from others....so I have to use running shoes for those speedy get aways. :p

I like to think of all of my gear as one complex item, with every part contributing to greater function of the whole. For example, my NVG's are awesome but I get more out of them with a laser sight on my gun to designate targets for other people. My radio is great, but it's better with my headset attached. I use everything I carry, and at any moment any item could become the most mportant thing in my kit.

I would have to say.....  probably high quality ammo is needed.  Because no matter the upgrades you have in your weapon of choice it's only as effective as the ammo you shoot from it.

Low quality bb's =  Low performance accuracy and barrel jams

High quality bb's = high performance accuracy and no barrel jams
