Strobe attachment?

Post by doom250 » Sun Jan 09, 2011 9:23 pm

This might belong under technical, but I'm not sure so I'll post it here.

If you've seen the movie Kick Ass (great movie, btw), you probably remember the scene where the little girl tries to rescue Kick Ass and Big Daddy after they're kidnapped. If you saw it, you might also remember the strobe light attachment the girl had on her pistol. Turns out that's a real thing, and I want one with a passion.

My question is, before I shell out $40 for this thing, would everyone hate me if I used that at a game? Because I don't wanna get accused of cheating or anything, and I don't wanna buy it if I wouldn't be using it at games.

Simplified version: If I bring a strobe flashlight attachment on my gun to a night op am I going to be universally hated for it?

Team WAR uses 750 Lumen strobe lights on some of their weapons. I would ask Green Ninja if anyone has ever gotten on to them for having them. Felix, we ran into those at 24-2 remember?

Strobes and flashlights are certainly allowed. That having been said, don't expect magical results. Profiling your teammates is worse than no light at all.

I expect no magic, for I am not a wizard. I'm just a loud, bright distraction, and a strobe suits that well.  :D

Exactly! At night games, I aim for every light in the other direction that I see. Having a light means you can see him, but he can see you too.

Distraction devices like strobes and flashbangs and all that are allowed and, if you know how to use them, can be effective.

As a side note, that movie made me want to have a daughter.

If you get a strobe it would be more useful as a distraction for your team to get the kills while you turn it on and hide praying not to be shot.

So his would definitely be okay, since they use even brighter ones.

Strobing flashlights have no effect on European ravers or blind people.  I'd spend my money on something more useful.
