first time upgrading

Post by Psycho Sam » Mon Oct 24, 2011 8:11 am

So i got me a nice little custom G&G cm m4. shes (emma) was my first gun, shes done good, never given me any problem in the 8 full games its been through and has become well broken in. and i love her SOOO much i dont wont to get ride of her for something new. So ive been saving to do a few little things to make her her best. but im not an expert at this so i was hopping you guys (who are) could let me know what you think or tell me something that would be better. (p.s. will have dom do some thingys to make better rpm)

- first i was planing to put about 30-40 buck down on a realy nice hop up. (cm came with a plastic) anyone know of a good 1? ok if its a little more.

- next i was thinking of getting a tight bore and a mock suppresser. im not a sniper but id like just a little more range and better grouping. i was thinking of a 550mm 6.03 now the thing is i know a 03 has it up from a 01 beacuse of air flow and all that good stuff. but is that good for someone whos more of an assault guy? or is there something that would make a 01 better for me? (p.s. i do not know about the thredding on my gun, i can tell the flash hidder on my gun is just screwed on, but does that meean i can just take it off and put on the suppresser or do i need some kind of add on?)

-battery, i got a cheap intellect 9.6 butterfly. got it for 28 buck. i have a crane stock whats better? (no li po)

If your hop up is one piece, and im pretty sure it is, you dnot need to upgrade hte hop up unit. the one you have is just fine. Likewise, your bucking comes pretty high quality stock already.

The CM come with a 6.05 installed from the factory, so youve got a good barrel already. I would look at upgrading some of the internals, like the piston and such. just depends on the guns current performancde, and if you have worn down/damaged anything already.

Alright, first off, Dom isn't doing tech work anymore, he stepped down.

As for a hop up, the CM hop up is actually quite good, just because it's plastic doesn't mean anything. What you really want is a good hop up bucking. PDI, KWA, Firefly all make good buckings, I've had good success with Madbull buckings as well. However the best you can get is to modify your stock bucking to use a Flat Hop, which will increase your range and accuracy more than any of the above buckings will or a new barrel.

A 550mm barrel isn't such a good idea for several reasons, unless you really want to hear all the stuff, just trust me that there isn't a need to go past a 509mm barrel.

And your barrel threads are the standard 14mm negative, so it shouldn't be hard to find a mock silencer to stick on the end of your barrel.

Elite batteries are better than Intellect, but as long as you treat the Intellect battery well, it will work fine.

I would be more than happy to help. I believe Stealth Hero is also doing tech work, though I'm unsure if he is able to install a flat hop or not. I'm currently living in Clemson, but will be back in lexington this weekend for the Scaresoft game. You'll have to message Stealth Hero on what he's doing, but I believe he does have a more central location than I do.

I charge $20 to install it. All I need is your hop up chamber and barrel. You can ship it to me, drop it off at my house in lexington, or talk to one of the numerous forum members about a time when they'll be seeing me so they can drop it off for you.

If you decide to ship it, I suggest sending it in the upper receiver of the gun to protect the barrel from being bent.

If you want to drop it off at my house in lexington, as I said, I'll be there this next weekend. It's likely I'll be able to do the install and leave it there for you to pick up when you have a chance. Just however we are able to work it out.

I have actually tried to do a flat hop mod, and I believe it's working, but due to some compression issues that caused really low fps (270 with the hop off), I'm not sure as to whether i'm just getting the same range as before or if I actually succeeded. As far as other stuff goes tho, I'm pretty comfortable inside an aeg gearbox.

well im not far from lexington so i could stop buy when i got my funds up. while you have it maybe you could look at something to. the hop up almost seams like its upside down or something. got any news on that? ive only been shooting when my batterys fully charged if that matters at all. over power or something.

What do you mean upside down? as in, the bbs shoot into the ground?

Regardless, I get the hop up up and running 100% when I finish installing the mod, so it will be fully functional whenever you get it back.

I think it's safe to say you will be very happy with the way your gun is shooting when you get it back from Kory.
You name a game, I've been to it.

If I've banned you, then you have more than likely deserved it.

If I deleted a post it didn't need to be there or I simply didn't like it.

well this is now dom approved. so i guess im good.

and yes thats what i might. its like its putting a frunt spin on the bb, the higher the hop up is the faster they go down. so im kind of not using it right now. you would happen to be going to op 3 would you? if you are would you mind checking it out? wouldnt mind tossing a few bucks your way.

Kory won't be there. Stealth Hero and I will be at the game if you want us to check it out. I know my way around hop up units and have successfully installed the flat hop on several of my guns.

Chippy is right, I won't be going to OP24-3. But I can attest that he has successfully installed a flat hop in his guns, so I know he'll be able to help you with your problem, or at least take a look at it.

hmmm, it sounds like something is hung up in your hop up, when you start to add more pressure onto your hop up bucking, it ends up stretching the bucking, pulling it more into the front of the barrel. It just needs to be readjusted for it to work right.
