If this is the S&T Tavor I think it is, then it has a plastic gearbox and a creaky, flexible ABS body. The chief failing of the ARES is the trigger mechanism. The externals are very nice on the ARES. On the flip side, this gun fixes nothing and is actually worse than the ARES!

$200 should *not* buy a gun that actually flexes laterally and has a plastic gearbox. You're paying $200 for a glorified Walmart gun.

Yeah, I understand.

I thought it was interesting though, and hoped it would be good.

Just buy a used one if you want one for $200. The Ares is rock solid externally, it's just the stupid trigger switch and the trigger and selector rods that truly are the downfall of the gun. The rods I could live with and if the trigger switch was reversed it'd be an easy fix. With the open to fire trigger circuit it really is a PITA to modify.
Say what you want, think what you want, it won't change the fact that AJAX will do what we want, when we want, including roll the ____ over you.

Cheap is a bad word, unless its a valuable rifle. So its not cheap, its reduced.

I messed around with these at SHOT Show. They weigh next to nothing (due to the plastic gearbox) and feel like a cheap toy. You could break it by looking at it wrong.

Holy crap, you made a serious post WITHOUT pimping E1. Good job.

Seriously, thanks for the input. I didn't figure it would be much. I don't know if you have any authority in this kind of thing, but E1 should rehaul those JLS F2000s.

It's crap if it isn't an Echo1, and this gun is a gigantic POS.

Cold, yes...but cold w/o an E1 ad is still an improvement.
