KWA M4A1 2GX or VFC M4 E-Series
KWA M4A1 2GX or VFC M4 E-Series
I've been debating on whether or not to get the KWA M4A1 2GX or a VFC E Series M4. I've seen a few other topics about the two, but none have helped me come to a decision. Which will be better out of the box, besides adjusting hop-up obviously, or do they come close enough that I should just look at price? Thoughts?

As a tech, I'd get the VFC. It's quite a bit easier to upgrade, is more accepting of after market parts, and will be a little more accurate out of the box. I know, I know, KWAs have that fancy 2gx bucking, but they've also got a two piece hop up.
Have you considered a G&P M4?

Understandable as in the event a piece does break it'd be easier to replace in a VFC. Yes, I've looked at a few G&P's, like the zombie killer m4 and I know they have good performance too since a friend of mine has an M16 Zombie Killer and it has an out-standing performance like another of my friends KWA.

I would say Classic Army M4 not the sporline version. If their sporline version is a great a gun as the one I had I predict thier none sporline versions to be even better

The Classic Army M4/M16 (with the exception of the X series) is not really on par with a VFC, G&P, or KWA. Much like WE pistols, they've stagnated and not really moved along with industry progress.

Re: KWA M4A1 2GX or VFC M4 E-Series
I actually had a Classic Army M15A4 Sportline the spring guide broke so I just decided to take the opportunity to get something better since I know I'm going to do airsoft for a long time, it was my first gun and I was trying to not spend too much as I didn't know if I was going to stick for a long time or not. It had multiple jamming problems and the spring guide had been devastated, 5/6th of the rim had broken off and a chunk actually came out of the side, it was a great entry gun but not the best option for what I'm currently doing.

I personally love my KWA M4. Accurate, good range, I just love it. Too tired to think of more reasons right now...
Re: KWA M4A1 2GX or VFC M4 E-Series
It really comes down to how much upgrading you plan on doing.
Minimal - Get a KWA
More involved - VFC
I am a KWA guy.
Specifically when it comes to the 2gx line, the KWA KM4A1 is hard to beat stock.
Pros:
1. Accuracy,
2. Range - .5 stock cylinder/ same as 2gx m16- This cylinder actually works much better with the m4 than with the m16/509mm length inner barrel, but that is my opinion - and a topic for another discussion.
3. 393mm inner barrel as opposed to 363mm
4. 2gx reinforced gearbox shell
5. Shimless gears
6. Awesome motor
7. 2gx bucking / twin fin design, not mound.
8. Solid Externals
9. Best performing stock compression parts that I have come across.
Cons:
1. Compression parts are mostly proprietary - hop-up unit / air nozzle / cylinder head
Other than that, everything is mostlyTM compatible.
I have a 2gx KM4A1 and installed a MadBull 455mm/6.03tbb and did a nub mod and get spot on accuracy at 65 yards all day long and can lob bb's close to 100 yards, without elevation of terrain.

Re: KWA M4A1 2GX or VFC M4 E-Series
While I own both I can put in two cents. They are both pretty awesome but my vote is for the VFC. The VFC has much better externals than the KWA. The KWA is solid but it feels more fake than the VFC with the wide pistol grip. When it comes to range, they are very close but the VFC does come with a one piece hop up while the KWA does not. As far as internals go KWA is notorious for being difficult to upgrade but the upside is the internals have never given me any issue in the time I've had it. The VFC on the other hand I stripped the piston on which is a somewhat common issue with VFC but it isn't a hard fix. Let's see here the rate of fire is very close and they both run fine on a lipo so really the main difference between the two is the externals. They are very similar and even though I will recommend the VFC you would be happy with either one.
