Fun fact: good tigerstripe is just as expensive (cheap, that is to say) as issued multicam now.

Another Fun Fact: Use of proper spelling and grammar makes people take you more seriously.

Reason why I play, well I find it fun and enjoyable, plus I need some outlet to spend all my Dad's money.

I cannot lie. I play airsoft because I love to shoot people. There is no better stress relief that shooting Garrett after a long week. Just kidding Garret, you know I love ya! I've made a ton of good friends while playing and have gotten to do OPFOR's for LE as well as the military as a direct result of playing airsoft and meeting the right people. I still love playing local games with people I have known for 3 years, but also enjoy the big national games. I have always loved roadtrips anyway, so airsoft + roatrip = a good time with friends.
You name a game, I've been to it.

If I've banned you, then you have more than likely deserved it.

If I deleted a post it didn't need to be there or I simply didn't like it.

Lets keep the AJAX train rolling!

I play because its something fun to go do with all my friends. Its also a great place to meet new people, travel, and learn stuff youll never learn elsewhere. The stories and experience make it worth any cost.

Interesting question. For me, there's a couple of reasons why I play it.
  • Expense - I can't afford to play paintball. A decent gun is $400, paint is $50/day upwards.
  • Realism - While airsoft guns don't have the range of real guns, they have a bit more range than paintball and are a bit more accurate. This lends itself to using more realistic tactics and equipment, which I'm a fan of.
  • Playing soldier - I've got no desire to be in the real military, much less a combat position. This is an easy way to play dress up a few times a month and pretend I'm a badass rather than some schmuck using a computer.
This all presumes that I enjoy combat in this sense, which I do. I like sneaking around the woods trying to get a good angle on someone, I like riding on the back of a "tank" playing the role of a gunner... it's a blast. If you're asking why I like that, that's probably a question for a therapist.

EDIT: Formatting.

I play because I had a dream one day that I would play in big games like "Scouthedoggie" Scotland airsoft videos, and the AOSC gave me that. I love making new friends, talking to people, camping and making the worst most funniest jokes in the tent at 12 midnight, looking at people's guns wishing I had what they had (everyone knows this), going to the big OPs (Venom, Frostbite, SOCO) and upgrading guns and taking them apart. I know all of us have been told "you play airsoft? Isn't that for little kids? Weirdo) and then posting up badass photos on Facebook and everyone being like "Dude that looks awesome can we join your team" lol. I love the sport of airsoft, that I do.

I enjoy playing airsoft because....

1. I simply enjoy shooting people, and all tactical aspects involved.
2. I enjoy staying fit, and airsoft is a great way to achieve that goal.
3. I like to socialize.

Lol, you must not look around at all our soggy butts at the games then. Airsoft is more of a way to remind myself how OUT of shape i am. Not that i do anything about it.

Well, where else can you go to show off that awesome set of exotic camo you bought from some shady Russian guy over seas, and tout your Gucci Pantac gear made of amazing durable fabric? Not to mention that expensive money sink of a toy gun that will break because you felt like upgrading it to the max... Just dont mention you bought shitty magazines that wont feed to save your life, which if you take that and the fact you dont want to go up and down the hilly terrain of Trigger Tyme and sweat in your Gucci gear, it actually makes sense why youd like to play air stand. Kinda. Well. Not really.

I've always enjoyed disecting the mechanics of war, and also the tools used to wage it. Airsoft is the closest I can get to both of those things while still maintaining the status of civilian. Not to mention the adrenaline rush or the feeling of pride when you pull off a tactical feat. Sure, Airsoft is frustrating, difficult, and sometimes intimidating, but this only intensifies the feeling of accomplishment when you complete that objective or take that base. That, I feel, is what keeps us spending our time and money the way we do.

I wish I could say the social aspect is big for me, but it isn't. I've been coming to these games for years yet barely any of you know who I am. Just not a talkative guy, I guess.

...I'll admit to this. >_>
