Just my two cents, get a good hop up unit, barrel, and the time to tune that in before you get a laser and/or optics. Then you will be able to use a laser, keep it simple style, or optic. You will fine that in a CQB setting lights, lasers, and snap shooting work the best. (More so the snap shooting .) And for field, optics and practice sight shooting works for that.
The peq box looks cool, but unless you are using it for a battery box, it may not be worth it.

Yeah, if its something you want to make your gun fit you more, go for it. I use a battery box and don't mind it overly. I've opined about lasers enough.

And as to all the above comments on accuracy, yeah, you can make an airsoft gun into a nail driver, but i sadly don't have the money. <--mostly broke college grad...

how i shop for airsoft gear: start at airsoftgi.com, check your price range, check reviews, google for that specific product and see if anywhere has it cheaper. Check ebairsoft.com for knockoffs that could be good, go with final decision.

I just had a run-in with some guys playing CQB that were using those friggin green lasers. If you cannot hit a man at 30yds or less without a laser pointing the way you need a new hobby. If you could limit them to pointing the laser at the torso it would be fine. I ended up catching a burst of green laser in the eyes from about 5 yards away and let me tell you it hurt. I saw stars for about 30 seconds, meawhile this a$$hat shot me in the mask. NICE To add insult to injury this arena in notoriously dark so my pupils were really large. We have since decided as a team not to play there ever again. My son has instructions to slap me if I ever say "......cats"

There is one good use for lasers in airsoft games. It requires the user of the laser to be engaged in a night game and probably be wearing NVGs, he can use his NVGs to spot targets, aim his laser at it while he fires at it, and the rest of his friendlies without NVGs can then aim at his laser and shoot as well. This is the only circumstance that I have ever seen a laser used to good effect at an actual airsoft game, and it did work extremely well. Unless you plan to do this though, it is pretty much a waste of money.

...No lasers over 5MW are permitted. Use common sense with lasers and powerful flashlights, as there can be some safety risks associated with them. Though it will happen once in a while on accident (and that is understandable), intentionally and repeatedly shining lasers in people's eyes will be treated as unsportsmanlike conduct and may result in removal from the game or further action.
