With a rail that long stuck on a 14.5" barrel your gas block will be completely hidden underneath the rail. Unless you care about having a fake gas tube and fake gas block that you can't see, I would save the $40.

Here is a rail that is basically the same as the $70 JG rail, but for $43.99 ($5 shipping). http://weaponblender.com/Accessories/Ex ... p4999.html

I'm 99% certain you can just pull your front sigt off, unscrew the delta ring, and pop the rail right on.

it won't fail if there isn't something supporting the rail between the barrel? I thought that's what the gas block was for, to support the rail off the barrel?

At least that's what I gathered from the pictures I was looking at.

The gas block never touches the rail.
