they work pretty good for applications under 1J. or around 320fps. Other than that they are no good as higher FPS negate their effect. Go to airsoft forum or any major airsoft site and search for them and you will find hundreds of post

They are worth it as long as you are shooting below 320 fps. Above this and it is useless.

These were ultra-popular in Japan years ago, as they have a 1 Joule limit there. As 2nd Ranger correctly stated, they're designed to work with sub-300 fps guns and really do not work with anything over 320fps or so, which is why you hear so little about them in North America.
