while there were some slant pocket jungle fatigues made locally from mitchell shelter halves..usually in okinawa...they weren't an even remotely common item....why you'd want a field jacket in that just sounds too hot..the fatigues were VERY hot....they were made from shelter halves after all...can't imagine how hot a jacket would be...though there is a pic of an early advisor in a mitchell shirt with OD pants and the okinawa jungle boots....
most pf the mitchell uni's looked like this.....

...So... While we're on the topic of Vietnam, when can we expect Op. Domino II?
Kidding.
A Vietnam themed game would be nice this summer. I really liked Dom's idea about having to deploy/exfil troops with Deuces to simulate the use of Hueys.

Actually I very well may be implementing my long withheld Vietnam scenario some time this summer...

I would like that Dom, as I have a full Vietnam loadout I build specially for a Vietnam themed game Robin put on moons ago. It needs to see some action.

This picture you posted is the one I wanted and have been looking for, but the company that makes the repro stopped selling them months ago.
Mine is rather thick material and has an inside lining. I am going to remove the lining so it will be cooler and so the reverse cloud camo can be worn on the outside.
I know the piece of mine in M65 jacket is not historically accurate, but I just love the camo patterns too much.

i can tell you...even without the lining it will be the equivalent of being wrapped in a canvas tarp......

yep...those are the Kamo brand ones that were a pretty common item with early advisers.actually ww2 impressions make a good copy of this uni for the Brigada 2506,(Bay of Pigs) impression....Kamo ran off a ton of them for the CIA for that op...
http://www.wwiiimpressions.com/brigade2506.htm
and it would be fine for an early adviser impression .you could go with the straight jump boots or you could go,as many advisers did when they could get them, with a set of the Palladium boots....own some, well worth the money...much better than most US jungle boots and period correct for the time.these are the boots that the NVA and chinese copied for their jungle boots....

I got a belt and harness, the belt at least is vintage. I also got some Alice pouches, and some cheap repro boots. I don't intend to wear them often, and they'll do until I drop more money on a quality pair. I am having a hard time finding a Mitchell helmet cover, and grease gun mag pouches. I also can't find any bipod pouches (hold Thompson mags) or 1911 holsters around here. I have a passable set of OD BDUs (will look around for a period correct set though), and an M1 helmet already.
