Gear Washing
Gear Washing
Recently my garage flooded and some of my mini-rigs got drenched. Did not realize it for a couple days so they smell worse than before. And yes, that IS possible.
Any way to wash them that wont screw up anything pouch/color/fabric wise?

Re: Gear Washing
I do a cold wash and air dry on my gear. Same with camo. Sure, you will lose color over time, but it doesn't smell like a high school locker room anymore.

There have been a lot of games since the last fatality. Roses are red, violets are blue, so is your car at 102

Re: Gear Washing
My wife is a trooper and washes them in stride as well. I can't help but chuckle when she picks them up and the smell hits her nose.Rev wrote:I give my stuff to my wife.
Somebody has to understand the face I'm talking about; like your wife was just slapped by a ghost. Not to be confused with our fiendly, neighborhood, "jsts ghost" that frequents these parts.

Re: Gear Washing
Vinegar and water sprayed onto the gear will get the smell out.

This is not the time to be wearing mesh goggles... and please be sure to get under your arms, behind your ears, and between them toes....Star_folder wrote:Vinegar and water sprayed onto the gear will get the smell out.

^This. The only issue I have ever had is all the velcro ruining Mrs. Dom's personals. Wash your airsoft stuff with velcro separate from other clothes with fabric that could be damaged by velcro or you will hear about it.Bishop wrote:I do a cold wash and air dry on my gear. Just ran both warm/cold, little detergent, came out fine. Air drying now. Looks and smells a lot less than mildew, but not fragranced. So perfect.

I wash my gear with dirt and sweat. Works every time.
