Best Event in SC ?
Best Event in SC ?
What is the best Event game to go to in SC?
Two day OP is what I have in mind.
If you were to invite someone from another State to attend an OP in SC and know they will have a great time, which one would it be?

If you want to spend an arm and a leg maybe. The Op 24 series here in SC has been in my opinion the best 2 day AOSC sponsored event. And hopefully there will be an Op 24-5!

Yes you see though, that is sponsored by the AOSC... AKA playing in the woods. Just calling it an OP and allowing players the option to spend the night and play sunday does not make it any more or less special than one day games in the woods.
As for the "costing and arm and a leg" please, I am a college student who pays for every single thing you will see me in and using on the field. I also pay for my games. If I can afford faded giant 1&2, Sovereign Fury, etc than honestly anyone can.
It is just the thought of "OMG that cost $150 to play airsoft, why would I do that when I could go play in the woods for $30". Well I will tell you why, first off it is the AO. The AO's at these games are worth the price tag alone. I can promise you the AOSC shall never have an AO like John Lu, American Milsim, MIndGame production, can secure.
Well you know what, my words will not convince anybody since I seem to be known as an elitist douche, so I just would ask you to please do your best to attend a national level game before saying anything, good or bad, about them.

The best game to an out of state player would definitely be something like Faded Giant. Our woods games have absolutely nothing to offer that you can't get anywhere else with 50-75 players and some nice woodland terrain. That is simply a fact, and not meant to be a detractor from AOSC events.
As far as people not being able to afford a big event... Think about how much you spend on a local game.
$20-40 gas
$20 BBs
$30 field fee
$10 lunch with the guys
$10 on Gatorade for the day
$10 food on the way home
It's easy to drop $100 on a game in SC at any given weekend! Skip a few and all of a sudden you can carpool to Pennsylvania!

Re: Best Event in SC ?
To give you an idea about the Faded Giant AO, it's a decommissioned nuclear facility that never went into production, so no radiation. It was purchased a number of years ago and is run by GTI (Government Training Institute). They have used it as an urban training tool for law enforcement and military. Faded Giant 1 in 2012 was the first time civilians were allowed to use the facility. Simply put, you will not find anything like it. It is quite the experience, with the added benefit of being in our backyard.

Thank you everyone for the input so far.
Please keep it coming.
Question regarding Faded Giant.
What is the typical total attendance of this game?

Re: Best Event in SC ?
Its only happened twice, 2012 & 2013, with 2013 hitting the limit. I suspect 2014 will do the same and sell out very quickly. so start saving now if you plan on attending. As for the total number of player, I cannot remember over 100 EASY. Maybe someone can comment who does remember the or close to the exact count.

There was an OP:24 V, and it was advertised to be the last one.

I agree with the majority that the current best option are games held at the GTI Facility by the "big" boys. There are 2 currently set. Blacksheep@ JOC (June 13-15) & Faded Giant 3 (Nov 9-10) by American MilSim.
Then there's what Hatch alluded to in his post....
From an email from Lion Claws:
"We're seeking to secure an AO in South Carolina (old industrial complex similar to Red Storm East AO) for an Oct. 3~5, 2014 Op."
