I don't generally no near the spawn point of the opponent team once I spot it.
I know no matter what I do, as long as I shoot them, they're going to flip out on me.

Also, camping can not only prevent defeat, it can also win games. Offensive camping is when you attain a position behind enemy lines without their knowledge, then ambush them. You are then often free to accomplish your objective. My methods are usually a case in point. Bear in mind I did not say having your entire team sit in your base will always (or often) win, but defense is often the best strategy, and there is nothing wrong or un-MilSim about it, much less "sissy".

I can give you many historical examples of armies "camping" in a strong defensive strategic position that they had taken in enemy territory that the enemy is then obliged to retake. In many of these cases, had they sallied forth and fought offensively they would have been slaughtered and cut off from retreat, however because the enemy exhausted themselves upon their fortified position, they were able to quickly force a satisfactory resolution, even without any direct offensive action.

Also, there are plenty of examples of nations being attacked, who then mobilized their forces and had them do nothing but sit in fortifications for the duration of the conflict. The bellicose nation eventually conceded with minimal action due to the strength of the other nation's defenses, with no offense on their part whatsoever. In that case, should they have taken the field? No, it would have been daft considering they were more likely to attain victory by remaining vigilant yet stationary. In this case it is not dishonorable or "sissy", but smart.

That being said, few airsoft games are organized in a manner in which one side can win by merely remaining on the static defense.

I think we just had different conceptions of campers Ian, it seems we are on the same page anyway :D.

As I started with.. campers, is a term coined by video gamers.. honestly I dont like defending, others on my team enjoy it and are better at it, I can do it just dont have the patience, my best defence is offence, somethimes works sometimes not, I get a rush moving into a fortified area or place I have no clue where they will be, its a challenge to make it through. Real combat? Put me as far away as possible with a sniper rifle and a spotter.  ;D those guys that love to get in the Shiz have  :o  big as the Epcot Center..

To be honest, I feel that GRAVE has been like a fish out of water for the reason that their are no campers in the AOSC. GRAVE functions the best when we only have to worry about offense, not having to watch our butts. There are airsofters out there who are great at being just defence, and their ok with that, and they give an FC a peace of mind on the field :)

In some games I like to move to the front line and then somewhat camp. In other games when needed, I can sit back and guard a position. Sometimes I like to rush a certain base or area. Just depends on what the need is at the time.

Some of my most epic moments have been ambushes.  Waiting till the enemy is vulnerable and then ATTACK.  ;D

As a "Sniper" ( or at least thats what I like to call myself ) I kind of have to save my itchy trigger finger and learn to be patient. So, frankly, I don't mind staying in one spot . . .
