I am Swamp Operations Manager and I have been waiting to run a Zombie Op, my son and I have played in some good Zombie games.

I have a great Zombie Game...with dedicated Zombie's...and can promise most of you will not survive the night as a human...or what remains human in a Zombie.

All I need to know...it that the numbers will be here to have a good game...and I will run 2 this year...one in the spring and one at Halloween.

We need at least 60 players to have this work right.

If you guys are for real about one...get your ppl on board and have Cleric get a hold of me, he is my host for AOSC.

When we ran ours years ago (and hence suggestions to contemplate):
1) Very limited ammo, a standard for survival horror genre. Provided by staff, small ammo dumps on field that were restocked occasionally (by staff). Think ziplock baggy with some bb's in it. Mindgames Productions down in Florida just did one (in December) with limited, admin-provided ammo and it was a huge success.
2) Game staff provided the weapons too, found on field. We provided cheap springer pistols, a few pump shotguns, and soft rubber/foam/plastic Halloween style melee weapons. Not saying you should do the same, but consider limiting the weaponry. Previous attempts using player-provided AEG's turned into weltfests for the zeds. Perhaps semi-auto only, CQB rules. Ranges will tend to be sub-35 feet anyway.
3) We had players come prepared to play both roles (cut up halloween masks and bloody shirts stowed in their gear). When a zed touched you, you were dead, but if a zed kept nomming on you for 60 seconds, you rose from the dead as a zombie yourself. Dropped your human gear (weapons, etc), donned your mask/shirt, and went brain eating.
Players could shoot other players, but they were just "dead" unless nommed on. You stayed dead for 5 minutes, then went and respawned normally (unless eaten).
We started with only a single zombie, and eventually most everyone was one. Slowly ramps up the carnage and tension.
Just my 2 cents.

I will work with Cleric...and come up with a great game we have run from my old field in NY.

You will all love it....and again...you will not survive the night...or at least your human form will not!!!!

Will post a little tease later today.

A little intel on the Op!!!!!!!!

The battle was rough for the US Forces, they greatly underestimated the Red Right Hand and their troops and lost many soldiers. But the USSF fought through and managed to obtain the Nuclear Core used to create the dirty bombs, only to realize that the Red Right Hand had already extracted the core and began producing hazardous chemicals. In fact the Red Right Hand had already armed 3 missiles that were to be launched from a nearby hill. The missile platform made it to the hill but was destroyed by a brave US soldier giving his life to destroy the vehicle before the launch could happen.

The USSF gathered for one last assault on the make shift village to stop the production and capture the 3 leaders of the Red Right Hand. In doing so the chemical containers were compromised and leaked into the village. The vapors seeped through the village causing some of the Red Right Hand members and militia to go through some metamorphosis that made the host hunger for human flesh.

Rules regarding weapons and crap:

REGULAR ZOMBIE MATCH
-Oft MED, semi auto only of course
-One high cap or 3 mid caps per player, players with pistols may carry as many mags as they wish
-Zombies start off as one zombie, players touched, they become infected
-Players take only full magazines on the field with them, no spare bbs in bags or in bottles

SCARY ASS ZOMBIE MATCH
-0ft MED, semi auto
-2 high caps or 6 mid caps per player, players with pistols may carry as many mags as they wish
-Players take maximum full mags and 1500-2000 rds per player
-Zombies enabled to sprint full speed, BUT, zombies only die from hits to the chest and back area
-Every 10 minutes, hoard is unleashed and all zombies enabled non-killable for 5 minute period. Players must do what they can to survive
-Once infected, player is presumed dead remainder of round

This is just my 2 cents, and I know it will most likely not be considered. This is just what I have watched from the UK and Arizona fields.

Okay, Players buy a springer from walmart. One mag per player, no extra BB's. Zombies can't die unless hit in torso or head. 3 zombies on different corners of the map. Good luck...

They're gonna happen man. You can't stop them. When you have a horde of zombies running towards a group or people, BB's will be flying and one could very possibly end up hitting someone in the head. Still, I'm leaning toward using walmart springers so getting shot with one of those wouldn't be that bad. Especially when they're wearing full face protection.

I believe Gerbilizer was saying not to ENCOURAGE headshots, in fact they should be discouraged in this sort of game. Obviously they can't be disallowed.
