Re: Vent thread
^Lol Dom at this point it would be great to plug SCAS since you could sell the parts that people will need to overhaul their bolt action snipers! (i.e people like me T.T)

Re: Vent thread
ehh, I agree with you on the most part but I will say, when I was using it at TDC it was great. I nailed a guy in the head from over 200 feet on the second shot. I did plan to put a lot of money into upgrades. If I can find a 90° piston for it, then I can use a V trigger and all that good stuff. But right now I have to put off buying stuff for airsoft because I may be moving back to FloridaDominum wrote:Not to say I told you so (because I didn't tell you at all, I told other people), but when that thing was released a bunch of people started making a big fuss saying that it was the first truly good to go out of the box bolt action rifle ever. Few people believed me when I called bull crap and said that at best it was simply all the externals you needed out of the box, but that the internals would still have to be overhauled. I told them we would wait and see who was right. I think I will have myself a pleasant gloat now:
(Don't mistake this for gloating about your misfortune, not at all. I hate that for you and I wish it were not the case. I just enjoy laughing at people who try to tell me I'm wrong when they have no idea what they are talking about[Living with Stephen must be rubbing off on me LOL])

Re: Vent thread
Having upgraded 3 sniper rifles: CA M-24, TM L-96 (Real female dog), TM VSR-10. All I can say is every one had to be gutted and rebuilt before they would out gun the AEG's. They all shoot 500+ with .25s but it takes a LOT of money and a lot of maintanence to keep them there. In my opinion the TM VSR-10 is the easiest one to upgrade. I did it myself without too much trouble, and it shoots the best of all our guns. I can hit my 100yd target (36"x36") time after time. Belive it or not, the airsoft guns are more trouble than real guns to tweak. I rebarreled a Savage 308 that shoots .5 MOA (thats 1.5 inches at 300yds ) in about 2 hours. It took me 3 hours to put in the 6.01 PDI barrel in my TM. I must be getting old!

Re: Vent thread
On a different topic, I would like to see a caveat added to the rules during the night games. All too often a single player or small group of players successfully ambushes a group of live players traveling down a path. Even with semi-auto, it is still reasonable that the ambushing player(s) should have a reasonable chance to gun the whole group down.
This however, does not occur. There will often be one or two players to simply stay quiet and hide behind their fallen comrades and quietly heal them right in front of you. During the dead of night, it is difficult to see exactly how many people might be in a group of standing players, so counting glow sticks will not help. I don't simply want to keep shooting until they shout at me that they are all dead, either (they could be lying, for all I know). Safety kills are a gamble, as well, because of the whole "well I was more than 10 ft away, so I'm not accepting it" argument and related confusion (I know the rules are set and in place, but not everybody knows them or applies them consistantly).
I feel that a reasonable rule specific for night games would be that any player who is standing must crouch or assume a prone position when they are shot. This prevents live players from moving quickly using dead players as concealment. It's not a perfect system, as a live player could still crouch behind dead players and heal them right in front of you, but it would be an improvement.
I bring this up because I ambushed a group of about 6 GA players at TDC with my revolving grenade launcher from about 10 ft away with three quick shots. Because it was so close and loud they still were not sure where I was (several of them were saying things like "was that a trip wire?"). In any event, I saw about 4 glow sticks appear, but there was too much movement and chatting for me to know who was alive and who was dead. I'm not saying that I should be God and automatically have killed the entire squad, but three grenade rounds to a fairly small group from that range should have gotten all of them. Apparently, it didn't, and I soon had a bright flashlight in my face and had to surrender.

Re: Vent thread
That is a reasonable request, let's see how the discussion unfolds as to it's merits.

Re: Vent thread
On a different note, I am venting right now that I never have all my guns in working order for more than the preparation of a single game.
Every time I have EVER gone to a game with every gun I own working, at least one (usually more) give out on me in some new and depressing way at that game. WHY CAN'T I GO TO A GAME WITH WORKING GUNS AND LEAVE WITH WORKING GUNS!!! It's actually at the point where folks say "tough luck" and I'm like "yeah, I'm used to it."
Wonder why I have lots of guns? It's because there is a very real possibility that I might have to bring out my secondary, tertiary, quaternary, or even quinary (did you know those last two?) gun and use it as my main weapon!
There is a cupboard at Dominum's house near his table that is exclusively for my guns (not a cupboard, really...a dresser, maybe?). Even though he keeps fixing them and giving them back to me, this cupboard is never empty.
I swear that you could put some fish and bread in this cupboard and feed several hundred people!

Re: Vent thread
Poor smitty. I'm guessing that this is why he rents guns and batteries. So he can afford to maintain his armory thats in constant disrepair.

The funny thing is you have so many guns that I still haven't gotten all of them LOL.

Hahahaha, well... I still cant get over that statement about my grenade supply. Speaking of which, for less than $20, i have bought enough easter eggs in the last week to build somewhere close to 1000 grenades. and I think i'm going to see if i can find any more eggs next time im out.Chippy wrote:You signature looks awfully familiar, Stealth

Re: Vent thread
Please be careful with those. It's very cool that you can throw those down at games, but always remember that sometimes they don't go where you want. Don't want a repeat of TDC with stunned players and near-miss-face-blowing-up.Stealth Hero wrote:Hahahaha, well... I still cant get over that statement about my grenade supply. Re: Vent thread
Thats very true what smitty said but why were fireworks or other kind of pyro even close to anyone's face? Isnt that just common safety? Dont keep fireworks or other explosives near your face?
