I still use condor pouches every now and then but I gave up on their vests and PC's last year.  When you go through 3 of theirs in a year and your buddies Pantac still looks like new after the same amount of use, it's easy to justify the extra cost.  But with Condor making 1000D vest's now I might consider checking them out again I just wish they made Ranger Green.

Dom you say as someone that has been to a lot of games, but you also state that you haven't been to any NC games so you are getting 2nd or 3rd hand info from them.

Whoah, where'd I say that? I have been to more NCAO games than most people in SC, not more than you, but more than most by far, about three large NCAO games. I stated that I knew that to be the case based on my experience and others' as well. As far as NC guys not coming down because of our rules, they have the option to go semi, or take ten minutes to stick in another spring. ICS and PTWs are very common up there too, and they take only a few seconds to switch to an M120. Though it's true we've seen blood and teeth at our games, it is sigificantly more common in NC. I wasn't saying that it never happens here, but that we shouldn't invite it to happen more.

i totally disagree with the "rich mans sport comment" my kwa m16 was $315 and is shooting over 400fps out of the box....all echo 1's these days ( the "beginner gun") shoot 400fps AT LEAST. and i believe that nc rules encourage people who own a hot gun to come out and play. I agree with Gambler on this one....but enough of my thoughts....what do you guys think?

Though many KWAs come slightly over 400FPS, they do not come at 435FPS, and if they did, their LiPo ready claim would have to go out the window. Also, your KWA is not a cheap gun. As for your E1 claim, you are incorrect. I have worked on more E1s than anyone else in this state by a significant margin, and I can tell you they do not come even close to 335 FPS. Though some E1s come slightly over 400 FPS, most are under. The only model I've ever seen that actually fired more than 400 by a decent margin was their VA AK RIS model. Exaggerated retailer claims do not make something a fact. As someone that has worked on at least 70 AEGs, I can tell you from experience that any AEG that runs at ~435FPS for any length of time on full auto will have to be either a very high dollar gun with excellent stock externals, or almost entirely upgraded. In other words, unless you have a lot of money you will be at a significant competitive disadvantage. Am I claiming that the gun makes the player? Not at all, but a disadvantage of that significance is a disadvantage in any case, though it won't mean you'll be utterly useless.

Sorry, but I will have to respectfully, yet firmly, disagree with the two of you on this matter of opinion.

@Tzer: EVERY new echo 1 made......250ish -120ish dollars shoots 400+ sir so a kwa and real sword price tag was just a personal example....the point is, it would not create a rich mans atmosphere.....thats what gear whores are for

I've never been to an NC game, nor had a friend go to one, without seeing/being told of serious safety issues (lots of bleeding wounds, broken teeth, broken optics, etc.).

nc games.....been to 2 official, and a fewe un official, never got hurt at all neither soap, did see one bleeder at op eagle 2...but also he was going sleevless...and didnt seem to care...

also look at fps claims the same as hp claims on cars....what they are and what they really are are 2 diff things.

400 seems to be the "benchmark" for factory guns now not comming from japan

IF they get there or not is a diff story....but nothing says jonny new guy buys a dboy that does happen to shoot 400 fps....may now be out of luck

While helping run the games with Robin over the past year, I've had the chance to chrono hundreds of guns.  There have been a TON of them that were shooting right at the limit or just over by no more then 10fps, and a lot of them were stock guns right out of the box.

Sorry Dom, I'm going to have disagree with you on this one.  Just recently I chronoed several KWA M16s that were between 425 and 430+, and they said that they were all stock.  Also my KWA M4 has been running full auto off of an 11.1 LiPo for over a year at about 395-398fps.  I seriously doubt that a measly 35 more fps would give me an advantage over other players or put a lot more stress on the internals. 

Range is not determined by fps alone.  A person with a $200 gun with clean barrel, a good properly adjusted hopup, and decent bbs shooting 360 will out shoot a $800 gun shooting 430 being used by an idiot that doesn't know how to take care of is gun or adjust it and using Crossman bbs. 

As for it turning into a rich mans sport, in a way, it already is kind of.  How many of us have spent thousands of dollars on airsoft guns and gear?  I know I have.  Does that make me a better player than anyone else?  I don't think so.
 
I personally wish the FPS were just a wee bit higher, but that's just me.

Higher fps limits don't necessarily mean you'll have an arms race,
It happens when the mentality of the players change. People get jealous or feel that their fps is somehow a penis extender.  I know because this has happened to me; I’ve even seen it in NCAO and SCAA. I used to run 2 guns with m130/m140 with tightbores because I thought it would make me a better player. I found that actually got less ‘kills’ and my team ended up needing me more as a support/suppressor role rather than a DMR role.  Also, with the higher power I found that my battery would pop fuses more often and that my mech boxes need more care. 

When people upgrade their guns and they're not used to the new MED's this is when injuries occur most often. Having a higher FPS means you have to change your playing style for the safety of other players. 
Remember you can make it sting, but making it painful is not the way to play the game.

lets be honest here...for the most part...its not airsoft if your gun doesnt go down on occasion. And what i was saying about e1's was from personal experience...while i cannot attest to ur trump card of "tech work" (bc i am not a tech) I can however figure out a chrono reading.....the ones that i have tested (akm, p90, ak74u, platinum m4; all are stock new models) and shoot 400 or more. As for the KWA claim, myself and pokerface included both own stock kwa m16's that shoot WELL over 400 with .2's. I have been running mine with a 11.1 lipo for 8-9 months and haven't had a functional problem yet. (the one problem i had came from my improper installation of a magpul moe grip). Like it has been stated earlier...none of this is personal i am simply stating my opinion and personal evidences as to why. aka: no disrespect to anyone
