My opinion on FPS.. High FPS is better, travels farther.. you worried about getting hurt? seems to me you need to regulate the PPE.. For those that dont know that, its Personal Protection Equipment. Googles, masks, Vests, Airsoft Armor if you will.. Anyone facing NC knows they shoot far. Sure we found a way around that, Skill.. you have to rely on your wits to gain position, but dont think for a minute at the next FG I wont have a super hot M4A1 slung over my back, that open field will be mine for the picking!

And seriously, think about the PPE for the future, its heading that way anyway..

all im saying is you have to have a gun to compete. sure its not all about the gun but to say it has nothing to do with it isnt right.. my RS AK.. for me that is a good all around gun, I can work it.. Now my mp5 or RS 97 is a different game, I must get close..

If there are going to be harsh regulations on how hot your gun is then there should be a different class of play. Maybe like with cars, a modified class of play..

to me 400 and under is legit for full auto.. 350 is fine for CQB.. anything over 400 practice the MED rules..

I dunno im just bored and ready to play.. Wont be ready till next week

My point was that no stock gun comes shooting at 440 FPS at a high/good ROF without failure for any length of time, with extremely rare exception (VFC anyone? ).

Spyder, are you saying that you are running a stock KWA at 335 FPS on a high discharge LiPo on full auto for a long time without failure? My guess is no, thus case in point.

Jeremy, I know some KWAs and even some Chiclones nowadays come close to 440, but my point was that unless you stick to semi they won't do so for long if left stock. I also don't debate that many come at 400.

I see no reason to start an expensive arms race where almost all stock guns are left in the dust (though it wouldn't be bad for business ) for essentially no gain whatsoever. You are all saying that the gun doesn't make the player, and I agree... So why the need to shoot even harder than we already do? SCs FPS limits are fairly standard for the US as I understand it anyway.

I'd like to add, however, that I would be in favor of allowing support guns to be 450 FPS on full auto (obviously) but with a 50' MED. Why would I be for this? Because currently there is no benefit to owning a support gun in SC when you can buy Hicaps or boxmags for most other guns, so SAWs are just heavy and expensive. This rule change would encourage more people to field them and would make games more realistic in the sense that a squad with a support gunner would actually have an advantage, and SAWs would be realistically feared.

What do you guys think of that possibility?

no im saying ive been runnin a stock kwa m16 at 445 (.25's) fps on a high discharge lipo for close to a year and have had no problems YET lol i am aware of the rarity of a gun that does such however, as i said before, personally i have had no problems. also, when i first got it, i was an idiot and fired on full auto a good bit. In past months however, ive limited myself to dmr status and it has been perfect.

Your KWA came at ~480FPS stock?

In any case, you use it on semi. If you had used it on full auto at that FPS for many thousands of rounds then you would have a point.

Again, my point is as stated. If anyone has any evidence to the contrary however, I am very interested to hear it.

yea...only the 2008 ones tho...as far as i knw anyway....i knw several people who bought theres the same year i did and they shoot HOOOTTTTT and then others that shoot 440 with.2's lol idk why the fps change from model to model but im not mad abt it. And yea i like that idea. personally i thought about getting a saw or something like it, but ur right....in SC there is literally no advantage to lugging that big thing around...none! so i feel like ur idea is a good one

there is an adavantage to having to lug a support weapon......the MAN FACTOR!
the trick is building the gun the way u want it to preform.
people will look at support gunenrs like DAMMMMM..
guys with boxmags on their guns.....except for the p90...(not cause i own one..that actually seems more practical ergonomically) or more like damn noobie...i could care less...run what you brung

i have an above average support gun....meaning i can outrange u a bit and durable enough to abuse the trigger. people say pray and spray...well guess what a support gunner is supposed to do...i carry a support gun cause i dont feel like reloading...often...

Sounds good to me.  As it is now, somebody with an upgraded P90 and a box mag has almost the same firepower as a guy with a saw.  And like you said, the guy with the saw doesn't really get any extra bonus for lugging around a 20 pound gun.
