i could see it as a power source for aegs...looks like a good idea, if they could make the power supply smaller..

That thing looks really cool... if you are playing laser tag.

I wouldn't mind that actually. The only downside I see is the wieght. Besides that, I don't see how it could effect your overall combat performance.

Chef, using it as an AEG battery would be just about the same as all the PEQ boxes and ready-mag systems we already have.
And for real steel, it looks like it might get in the way, and one short, and all your stuff is down, as the article says.

after some pondering, so what if it shorts out.....if the gun can fire then it is not useless.....just all your fancy imperialistic gadgets

I don't think this has much use in the airsoft realm. One short and you blow the fuse, battery conks out, your trigger contacts are fried. Essentially you turn your gun into a large paperweight.
For real steel uses, I also think it's somewhat limited. You couldn't use it on something like a G36c or other Polybased receiver. I don't know how comfortable I am about running a current through something I'm completing a circuit with. That's just my .02 though.

Yea that shorts and a Peq box gets fried you might be screwd if you need a IR laser for air support or let friendlies know where you are.

Indeed, and that's why I said "everything
on your gun" instead of "your whole gun."

Amen to that.

Why? There isn't any point, the self contained power sources on accessories work just fine most of the time (they die eventually, but you carry spares), are independent of eachother, and MUCH less bulky and ugly. This is a useless idea.
I do appreciate the post though, that way we can all make fun of the idea before someone buys it and we make fun of them

.

Oh, don't get me wrong, Henry. I think it's ridiculous, myself.
Step 1:
"General, our men are suffering a debilitating loss of efficiency from having to carry around extra batteries!"
Step 2:
"Somebody look into this battery situation!"
Step 3:
"We present our solution to your problem."
Step 4:
"It's perfect!"
In Conclusion:
"Several soldiers were killed in separate incidents today when they mistook their batteries for their magazines in the heat of combat."

Most of the stuff on a M4 is ran by AAA batteries anyway.
