That's an inconsequential piece. They aren't bringing up any legal action, so it's not a problem. Basically what they are going to do is try to get people scared by having on a bunch of cops saying "don't be a dumbass", which we already know. If you are dumb enough to point an airsoft gun at an officer, you will be, and should be, shot.

Let me restate this... This is a news report on how poor decisions with airsoft guns can lead to injury or even death. I apologize for making anyone think that this could possibly be the end of airsoft (which it most certainly is not). But I'll wait and see what it says tomorrow on the actual report. For anyone that didn't catch it, I'll post up details.

I have already left a message for Taylor Kearns, the reporter doing the story, asking him to call me to see if there will be a pro-airsoft side to the story. I feel, like I am sure most of you do, that the general trend in the mainstream media is to look only at the slim chance that something could go wrong. No one has yet to give airsofters a chance to shed light on the many positive aspects of the sport, such as learning to handle a real firearm properly through the use of an airsoft gun, the chance for younger people to learn to work with and as a team, kids learning to make new friends and interact in a community, the chance for kids to build some self confidence, for kids to learn self discipline, the health benefits of the exercise, and not to mention keeping kids off of the street where they could be getting in trouble, doing drugs, drinking, etc, etc...instead, they are around mature adults, that are a positive influence. When and if, this guy calls me, I would like to be able to list these and a whole lot more positive things out to him... please help by listing some positive things about airsoft, from your point of view!

Very well said! I'm gonna add one point, it also has its own honor system in that you can call your hits or not call your hits. And the fact that they're having fun and doing something semi-productive by having a hobby like airsoft is a very good thing. It gives them an alternative to the "drug" way of life.

Rather than kids playing with airsoft guns in a game run by mature adults, they could be on the streets playing with REAL guns .
