Got a Question

Not sure if this is in the right section so sorry. I was wondering what everyone's opinion was on the brand ICS, are their internals and externals good or what. I know they have been around for a while but I have never seen one in person let alone held one. Oh and are the prices fair for the gun you are getting?

The only ICS I've considered buying was the new ICS Galil. But after seeing this video:
RA TECH ICS Galil & SIG Part Test
... the gearbox sounds pretty bad. It may be the shimming or something, but I wouldn't be happy with it out of the box.

Well I was thinking more along the lines of the ICS Sig 552 that is liscensed by cybergun so it has full trades and everything.

I heard that the ICS galil falls apart quite easily. Infact, I've seen it happen. At a game not too long ago, a kid had one and parts started falling off randomly.
I was considering the sig552 for a while there and my research has lead to my decision that it is decent. Although, the charging handle can fall out easily. Search some youtube videos and you will see what I mean. That one austrian team on youtube has a review on it.
Also, TM makes a really cool EBR stock for the sig552.

If you get a 552 consider a Tokyo Marui. I have one and it is very sturdy.

Yeah one of my guys had a Galil, the nice furniture wood handgrip one. Very nice, shot great, felt realistically heavy. This was half way through the game the entire gun fell apart. Literally. I have a bag in my house with the separate pieces that make up the front barrel, front assembly, handguard, bipod. all that.

ICS has never been known to make anything of quality.

I am not that impressed with ICS and for the price you can find a KWA or VFC for around that price. I think G&G guns are much better and a better price.

I have the L86 and I am extremely impressed with the quality. The gearbox was shimmed well from factory and it shoots great. I am really happy with it. The hop up did have to be shimmed but after that I have great range and the ROF is great with an 11.1 v lipo. But I think it varies big time gun to gun. I would go with the TM Sig and up it

^If you want a 552, get this. If it is for CQB, it will run stock for years with great performance. If it is for field, drop in an M120 and it will last a while, then fix it when it breaks. I will eventually get a TM 552 for CQB because they are so comfortable.

Hmm... I may sell mine after I get home.

Yeah I was looking for something I wouldn't have to upgrade and I was trying to decide between the ICS 552 or VFC M16 bc the ICS 552 has a package deal on asgi that includes a kjw p226 pistol for 280. It is a cybergun deal because everyone thinks that cybergun only deals in plastic guns from walmart. Looks like I am going with the VFC m16 though because I currently own a KWA m4 and have a ton of mags. Plus I like the feel of the standard assault rifles like m4's and m16's. Thanks for the help though. Mods you can delete this if you want.
