Me, my brother, my Dad and my Grandpa are building a new field on Grandpa's property outside of Lugoff. I will be writing most of the scenarios, and there will be a LOT of three faction games(Alpha, Bravo AND Charlie). THe land is a 20 acre howseshoe shape, there will be a base at each corner(US, Ruskie and Ressistance, with a spare). The bases will be lightly fortified respawn points. We will have a lot of barricades and hide-behinds, and I plan on doing some Zombie, Assasination, Launch the Missile and Bomb Squad scenarios. Can you guys think of anything we could/should do? Thanks!


EDIT: I want to clear the intentions of this thread. If anyone has any ideas for how to make fortifactions, different fortifications they like, and anything else they want to see in the field, leave a comment please.

In our PMs you said "a few acres", now its 20. Is that the accurate number?

Are there any clear boundaries to this horseshoe?

I know Blackwater was a lot of fun, but, from someone who has run a crapton of games big and small, let me tell you that three faction games are VERY hard to run well. It requires a lot of very specific and well balanced game mechanics to keep it from going bad quickly. So, for your first few games it would behoove you to only run two factions until you get used to it.

Steevo, I was misinformed before, and there are decent boundaries on most sides. It is between fifteen and 20.

Due to a usually busy schedule (read: if im not working I'm making the most of the opportunity to be lazy), I don't know how often I would be able to make it out there, but I'm sure I could come pick off you and your friends for a few hours once every month or so.

Stealth, this isn't going to be a private field, hopefully we will be hosting AOSC games there, and there will also be paintballers occasionally.

Since you didn't read it the way I meant it, let me clear it up a bit. I may, on a rare occasion, develop a desire to play a bit more than what's normally sated by hitting up an AOSC game every month or so, and thus play an extra game. If I have such a craving on a weekend that you have a game and there isn't another game I would prefer over it, then I may be likely to make the 30-45 minute drive to your field to spend some time sending the players there to respawn.

HOWEVER, this thread is for things people think we should put on the field like certain types of bunkers, barricades and huts.

Give me some kind of map. A msPaint drawing of the rough boundaries will work. And then I can probably come up with some kind of ideas that will make for some very challenging scenarios.

OKAy, I'll go work on that. I'll include things that we already have planned.

Alright, and please include woods, open areas, hills, and the such in as well. it will help avoid the "cant do that cause off terrain" issues.

Paint shmaint. Go to Google Maps and get a sat photo.

MSPaint = something anyone could do no mater how stupid

google maps = could potentially be to difficult to those new to the internets.
