Camouflage!
This is a topic reservd entirely for an intense (but not offensive) camouflage debate! BDU, DCU (a.k.a. DBDU), ACU, ABU, MARPAT (both kinds), Multicam, Flecktarn, Realtree (does anyone actually wear that in airsoft; I've never seen it), and any other camo you can think of. What do you use? Does it work? Why? Just don't hate on others.
I use a combination of full Army Combat Uniform (ACU) with OD Green Gear. It doesn't exactly do much for concealment most of the time (though I once found an amazing spot where I couldn't be seen from five feet, but that was at night and in a shrub), but its a nice system. Its actually better than my previous kit, which was full ACU with an ACU vest, and that REALLY didn't work. I wouldn't mind being able to get ahold of a full Multicam uniform, but with only a year and a half or so before I enlist and get the real thing, I don't see the point.

Re: Camouflage!
I use tigerstripe(the old school kind) with my VN LRRP kit, and it works quite well in a lot of scenarios. However, for Bravo I have a contractor loadout, which consists of a black fleece and tan cargo pants with a MOLLE vest.
My Tigerstripe is effective, slightly uncommon and not easily mistaken for tan.
I have no love for Multicam, because I have mistaken it for green from a distance(at Blue Hole if it matters) and it's the generic pro camo like BDUs are the generic FNG camo. Hover, I can't deny that it's effective.

Re: Camouflage!
I love how Multicam was only introduced to the US Military after SOF started buying it from the civilian sector because it worked in Afghanistan, and now everyone hails it as God's camouflage on earth. It's good, I'll admit, but it doesn't hide you everywhere. Woodland BDU and MARPAT work in the woods, and DCU and Desert MARPAT work in the desert. Multicam, to me, seems to work best in places like the 'Stan, where it can be arid, rocky, and shrub-brush-y all at once. And BDU isn't for noobs...ever seen a BUD/S class?

Re: Camouflage!
Multicam works great in the woods. Knockoff chinese multisham doesn't. If you want to run bravo there really isn't a better choice than legitimate MC.
Anyone who says differently is either too poor to buy it or selling something.
Edit: MC was only introduced late because ACU was cheaper. For that matter, the only place ACU is really known to work well IS Afghanistan!

multicam works well everywhere within the known universe.

so the "known universe" excludes icy places and urban enviroments?Echo1 Operator wrote:multicam works well everywhere within the known universe.

It also includes the sun and the vast emptiness of space itself. And an asteroid field. I could also make a joke about everyone's favorite planet, but I won't.specter wrote:so the "known universe" excludes icy places and urban enviroments?Echo1 Operator wrote:multicam works well everywhere within the known universe.

Re: Camouflage!
Multicam is the way to go during the fall and winter times when everything is on the brown/tan side but I love my marpat and it works pretty well in the spring and summer months when everything is pretty green. I'll also admit that for desert enviorments like blue hole, multicam is again king.

If high caps kill little girls
Then drum mags commit genocide
Is tactical pastel pony
Oh this baby? It is genuine walmart brand.
If it has been said by Henry, then it's probably right.
Re: Camouflage!
Guys. This long debate should come down to one very simple question. Show me a uniform that not only works well, but works well EVERYWHERE. You cant right? Because there isnt.
However Multi-cam has been proven to work in hundreds of locations, and blends well with fall woods, winter woods, desert enviroments, and yes, even some spring and summer locations. Show me another set of uniform that does that well.
