New Field

Alright, me and my buddy have been thinking for a while now about investing in an airsoft field in the upstate area. Not sure on what the exact location would be but somewhere in the Greenville, Clemson, or Easley area. So I just wanted to get on here and throw the idea around a little bit and see what people think. Would you be interested in a field in any of these areas? Indoor or outdoor? What would you want the field to have to consider coming and playing at it? I'm interested in any feedback you have about the idea, positive or negative, lets just try and not be rude. Also to any admins that might read this, what do you look for when deciding if a field can host official AOSC games? Are there any requirements? Like I said all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Thanks for your time.
P.S. On a side note, what would you think if the field alternated between airsoft and paintball use? Would this increase or decrease your interest? Have any fields tried this before and there were related problems? Just let me know. Thanks.

Problems with letting paintballers use it: paint everywhere gets in gear.
Indoor field in the upstate would be nice we don't really have one. EDIT: but as Felix said to do it right is pretty costly.

There are a few paintball fields in rotation, people play it nonetheless. If you need cash, cater to both.
Problem is, finding a facility large enough, and having the money to set it up RIGHT.
Best you could do, and for those areas especially, is outdoor and indoor. Get a large track of land and build a large warehouse in the middle. Set up small playwood houses along the outer lines of the warehouse and put up small barriers in the house. There you would have outdoor play that transitions into a large indoor facility. Have a smaller house at the entrance to sell tickets, ammo, gas, food, and have restrooms and the offices. however, thats what, 30k+?
The cheap side of the coin would be get a small warehouse, say an old Walmart or store like that, and convert it into a CQB indoor arena. But that would still be 10-15k.
Cheapest is do an outdoor field, like everyone else. Buying land in those areas would be easier the farther out you go. But still a large amount of money for larger lands worth playing on, as well as insurance and taxes.

Yeah we defiantly wouldn't be sparing any expense if we opened one. But I'm really interested in knowing about field requirements for official AOSC games to be held there. Anybody know anything about this?

You want to contact Dominum, IamHoss, Cleric, Star_folder or any other admin. You can pm them about the field requirements. I do know most fields we play on have insurance and are decent size. I am personally excited to hear someone is going to try to build a new field!

There are no field requirements. You dont have to have insurance and size is meh. Wellford and Fort Prince were minuscule.
Your field just has to be able to pull people who want to play there.

My suggestion is look for some older buildings out away from everything, and see if you can get it for airsoft. the land around it too. Then you got some cool builfings for clearing and land to fight around

I'd love a developed indoor place on the scale of SSAirsoft in the upstate. I know thats a lot, but it would be awesome. You could definitely get people to help with labor, building, fixing the place up, etc.

If you open a field that does paintball and airsoft, you might get more airsoft players if you let them use the whole field on days (usually Saturdays) they use it instead of just giving them small parts of the field and rotating fields with paintballers. Some of us like large fields and find it annoying to just play on small sections.
