Deep Scar IV

There's no kill switch on awesome!
Re: Deep Scar
Haha, I'd just like to say, I had a blast at Deep Scar. Then again, I was never around the people not calling their hits, or the people shouting "Call your [censored for younger audiences] hits, [censored for younger audiences]s!" All of the people who were in my general vicinity, whether they were with me or against me, played honorably, and that takes a lot of maturity and integrity, and I commend you for it.
I personally didn't participate in the night game because a) I didn't want to add fogged goggles to pitch dark and b) I did not feel comfortable shooting blindly at people with my AK, which may have chrono'd at 280, but I know it was shooting harder than that. And I really didn't want people firing blindly at me, either. That just spells trouble.

In these larger ops there are always those who don't get it, who just refuse to either follow the rules or show good sportsmanship. My first big op it drove me crazy, but I have learned to just ignore "the little guys" and enjoy the op with those who love the sport enough to be as honest and sportmans-like as possible.
That being said, I was an observer for DS IV and noticed that the majority of players were having a good time. Most of the reports I have gotten so far in fact are better than the ones I received from the earlier DS games. However, for Country's sake the full seal rule should have been STRICTLY enforced.
My son's (Cobra and Tanker) both had a great time at this event.

The SCAA needs to redo their safety kill rule. No one should shoot someone else with just feet to spare in this game. I just don't get that close anymore and if someone sneaks up and calls safety kill on me I go with it. Rather respawn than injure myself or someone else. Sorry to hear what happened to Ironchef.

I was right in front of him in flecktarn. And yes, it was funny. Only after we knew he was OK, of course.cantttype wrote: You were one of the ones I saw! You were wearing flektarn right? I tried not to laugh and managed to ask if you were ok. ;D

Re: Deep Scar
The meatbag density was the best part. People were everywhere! Since last year I dont think there has been fewer than 100 people at a Saluda game.

Re: Deep Scar
Favorite part of the weekend:
I'd have to say it was myself and 3rdOptik in the last 20 minutes or so of the last day game...we rolled up on the base and caught the few bravo that were there completely off guard, I shot one and safety killed Slate( ) and one other guy, and 3rd shot a few himself...but then as I was running around to the other side of the condemed building thing, I jumped off the porch(I guess that's what you'd call it) and BigMan(Mike right?) shot me in midair...I was disappointed, but it was just so awesome!
And then the night game was epic...I had looked forward to it ever since DS3. Fireworks and loud music/speeches make for a great game! Even if some of the fireworks did almost kill us...
As far as chaps not calling hits...
I've noticed that yelling "call your hits" will not make someone not calling their hits call their hits...the only way is to shoot them in such a way that they feel it(and feel it GOOD!!). Most time when I thought people weren't calling their hits I was hitting them in the vest(and with a single shot going less than 400fps from +100ft away, I understand that sometimes you can't feel it), so I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
And to all those "Dead Men Talking":
DON'T!!! Me and Alan had the chance for a sneak attack that every player wishes they could pull off...but some Bravo we killed gave the base a heads up...we might not have taken the base anyway...but that destroyed any chance we had

Re: Deep Scar
Was that you at the very end of the game with another GRAVE guy and two others? If so, the two others were me and Jice. We ran out from the tarp fort straight up the hill with just seconds to go and caught them completely by surprise. It was sweet.MCG wrote: but somehow I managed to kill the Bravo general in spite of that.

Re: Deep Scar
Me and henry had a pretty epic moment at the end of the first mission on saturday when bravo was pouring into the alpha base. We were back to back behind a tree holdin them off and I had the bright idea to move up.
I move up and get shot from under the propane tank. Henry just hits the deck. THen this tan guy comes around the corner with a sniper and doesnt even see henry laying there. And I think you know the rest

Re: Deep Scar
I was one of bravo pouring in. After 20 minutes at the buildings, we started to get flanked. I thought death was near (this is what cantttype talks about earlier), so I decided to go out in a blaze of glory. I emerged from behind the propane tank, ran into the middle of the base searching for a green target, then soaked up a ton of bbs. Ah well, sometimes you just gotta try.
