On behalf of the smaller musically inclined golfcart tank and accompanying infantry/AT support, we'd like to thank you all for having us out again, had a good time despite the heat. Most of our infantry sat out after lunch, having become seriously dehydrated/exhausted, a common enough problem.
Alpha's command staff had a good plan and was well organized pre-game, as a result as soon as we were told game on we headed out with Alpha's infantry in a dead run from start, which is why Bravo encountered us so far down the field (i.e. in the vicinity of the "island" and field area). Despite having wheels and an engine and being in the vanguard, our infantry actually beat us to killing the first Bravo convoy vehicle (the HMWWV). Very impressive effort. Unfortunately as the day went on the operational tempo enjoyed early could not be maintained, and after the convoy reached the point in the road where it became a single roadway we were honestly less effective against them. It was then just a matter of time.
(I need a bigger tank!)
As Star_folder noted earlier, we made a conscious effort to be annoying to Bravo, but hopefully not too annoying.
The number of RPG's (mostly on Alpha) at this game was the largest I've ever seen at an event to date. Mucho props to those who home-built them, including quite a few very young folks, which goes to show that anyone can do it with a little effort and minimal cost. I was pleased that most people remembered that you can't kill a 'real' tank with a rifle (even in video games), by cramming it in some small hole or slot. Get an AT weapon or just bypass us. Despite a perceived lack of AT support on the Bravo side I can personally attest to being blown to smithereens nearly a dozen times during the 5.5 hours we were on the field, mostly by Diesel, D. Smitty, and members of Ghost/6mil Bogeymen. We're dead in most of the pictures of us, in fact! Well done gents. I also enjoyed comparing notes with the Redemption tank crew. It was nice to not be the only tank on hand for a change.
Hope to see you all again in the fall.
