Re: Wasteland - Post Apocalypse game Welford August 18th

To start off the day was not too bad, we had to wake up around 3am to make it in time but once we were up it was not too bad.
I think the field would be much better for a smaller number of players so we could really get some CQC going on. The day really turned into one team inside and one outside shooting back and forth. This is not a problem but we were really looking forward to a CQC inside type game. I know most people know how the field looked but for us it was the first time and we heard CQC so we had a different expectation.

I liked the game idea it was a good change from take this base and hold it. I think Cleric did a great job at running the game, of course there were problems but that is life and I think they were handled great. Chronos were done great and fast and the game was a little late but it was not too bad. Lunch did not run over and started around the time it should have.

I do think that the host of the game should not play though and this is not directed to cleric only this is for anyone hosting a game AOSC or not. I understand that it sucks hosting a game and not playing and I also understand you are not paid for this. In the AOSC you made the choice to be an admin/rep and knew what the job required you to do. I just think the person hosting the game should be around only as an admin so they can answer questions or handle any problems that come up during the game without being tracked down somewhere in the field while they are in a fire fight. Again this is not directed at Cleric because of this game this is for anyone putting on a game.

Does any on realize there were 2 admins walking around, mohawk's marine friend and cleric's son. Also I don't think there was any reason for them to walk around if anyone needed them they would go right away and stop what they were doing.

Yes the field does have some safety issue s , but understand that is out of the field host hands or control. We just " rent" the field from the owner. If everybody thinks this is a issue , we need to have a work day to help clean it up. I am one that is all for this , but I'm not gonna drive 1 1/2 hours to do this by my self either ! :)

I know that, if arranged, I would drive to help get the safety issues cleared up. Maybe if we could get the players to come out an do that, some of the other players would come back out. As I stated, I will not be out to play this field until the place is worked on.

They could have a clean-up day, and all those that come out to clean-up get a discount at an upcoming game there. That is what the Swamp did.

That's a good idea, if Putnam will agree to it. The debris is getting worse, I noticed some more lights had fallen.

I think I forgot to thank the guys from King David who came out prior to the game and improved and increased a number of small fortifications and added cover. It was a great improvement we all benefited from their efforts, thanks guys.

Yes I can not Say enough good things about Team David .! They go above and beyond the call every time . They also provided the Chrono that we used ! If they had not we would have been up the creek ! I know we should Not or try not disscuss Religion , BUT oh well here I go : Team David , exemplify what True CHRISTians should act like ! They are passionate, not only about promoting Christ , but in their play, they are honorable and go out of their way to help others! I don't mean to offend anyone or push "religion" on any one . Believe what you want , but if you want to see a group of CHRISTians that play and at the least live it out on the field then they are your group! I say all this because too often people like point the finger at people and complain , well when some one does good we should be just as quick to heap praise also ! This statement is not ment to say they are perfect or the best, bust just a thank you and pat on the back.

GARRETT wrote:Great video man. And by the way the guy at the 7 min mark was blind firing..... that is a strict no no in the AOSC.
Thanks Garrett.

That was one of the very few unsportsmanlike like issues that I mentioned earlier, and honestly the only infuriating issue of the afternoon. That blind fire took out 1-2 of 5 defenders, paving the way for bravo to take the building that we had held all afternoon. Which in turn trapped us back in our spawn.

All involved conducted themselves appropriately, where the Alpha players called themselves hit, regardless of how, and reported it to an admin. Nothing could be done about it since no admin saw it and the only proof past "he said / she said" was on video. In that situation it would have been nice for an admin to be looking, but I understand the reasoning for them not to be only observers.

The fluorescent light falling on video was surprising as well. It sounded like the ultimate Thunder B, quieter and littered with shrapnel...

I have to agree that at minute 7 there was what looks to be. But I was on the other side, gun up looking at mohawk. I had a medic healing me. Right at the tap on my back, I jerked my dead rag off and sent 5 shots on semi right at Mohawk. The one that had his gun around the door was dropping his gun to take the safety hit. I did clear three before I got hit once again and medic did my last heal.

Edit: also marauder and a few bleeding Alphas was on the outside with me.

Please don't take me wrong, I'm not accusing anyone. Nor am I saying Bravo was not capable of taking the building otherwise. Just pointing out a few things to be watching for.

Since Mohawk was eliminated by you, the only Alpha player eliminated by the blind fire would have been my brother, POV camera at the time.

I think I may have been shooting your way on that full-auto run I attempted after the blind fire.

Like I said, fun game, good group of guys, can't really complain.

In fact there was an out of play admin observing, at some times more than one. This is a good example of the fact that even when there are out of play admins they can't see everything unfortunately.

That footage is exactly what NOT to do in regards to the blind fire rule, it's against the rules not only because it is unfair to other players as far as game play mechanics go, but more importantly because blind firing like this is extremely dangerous since you have no idea what is on the other end of the barrel.

Hopefully catching it on video will cause the player to correct this problem.

At the very least, it'll provide an example "DONT DO THIS"
