Toys for Tots at ABP 12/6/09

It was a fun time at ABP Sunday. I don't know if it was the fact that I haven't played airsoft since Fulda or what. But I had a freakin blast!!

It was a small crowd at this one. Around 30 or so, if I can recall correctly. But the numbers were mainly Raptor 1 and SOS. We had a few new up-and-coming airsofters along with us to add to the numbers.

First off, there was no GREEN and TAN on this one. When you registered and got your card, you had a number on it. When Kevin started the breifing, he announced that the teams were odd and even. Therefore, both teams were basically split in half. Makes for a fun game because you got to run with another team's crew. See how they operate and get along with others.

As far as the first scenario, it was a hostage situation in the city. The hostage was in one of the buildings and we had to find him. But the hostage was injured, so we needed a medic to give him an IV for 2 minutes before he could move him. It was only a 30 minute game for this. Doesn't seem long, but one of the kickers that Kevin threw in was there was respawn for the first 15 minutes. The remaining 15 was one-shot one-kill.

Blue team started in the Farm area of the field and had to shoot our way into the city. With not a whole lot of close cover, this part took most of the time frame. After inching into the city, Blue were able to push Yellow back far enough to get two of ours in the building the hostage was in. After a seemingly long 2 minutes, Jester and Kurt(sorry if I get your name wrong, dude, I'm s***ty with names) started shooting their way out and hauled the hostage back to our base. I beleive we were down to the last couple minutes of the game when we got the hostage back.

After a 20 minute break, we started to head out for our next scenario. There is a downed pilot out on the field. Both teams are out to find it and get him back to their bases. The differences is Yellow had to find and get him and just get back to their base, while Blue had to get him back and defend him for 15 minutes.

Blue found the pilot first, but members of Yellow snuck in behind us and cut us off from our base. Seemed like every time I turned around there was a Yellow shooting at me As I was moving down the road to the tire maze, I saw about 3 or 4 Yellow pop up and fire at me. I tried to move into cover and got my foot stuck in the mud. I was calling HIT before the BB's even got to me Then after I hit respawn, I was coming down the same way(because it was the only way I could go) I took fire and was able to duck down a path this time But as I ran down, Adam with Raptor 1 popped out of cover and tore my legs up

After this, the Toys fot Tots game was over. But Kevin let us run around some more in the city. We all loaded back up and had a pistol fight in the city. We paired up into 2's and basically went down to the last man That was the first time I've done that, and will make sure to do it again. After that, I had to head home. So anything that happened after that has to be told by somebody else.

I would also like to thank everybody for their donations to the Toys for Tots drive for North Myrtle Beach. There was a large pile of toys under Kevin's tree for the kids this Christmas. Hopefully the toys and the monetary donations will bring a lot of smiles to a lot of young faces.
