I enjoyed myself, killing a good many, and breaking in my new rifle. Good time defending and attacking, hated rolling my ankle, enjoyed rolling half of the field. ;)

Hey gang, I just wanted you all to know we had a great time at this game. One of the best I have played.
Just a few points.
We ran into a group who shot a nerf projectile from an off limits area and then proceeded to "boo" us for staying and fighting after a medic ran in and revived us. Not sure what the "booing" is all about. Never heard of this or seen it before. I believe it was the same group that spewed "excessively harsh language" when they were hit at the end of the game. I guess they were "bummed"
But this same group had a bit of a hard time knowing when bbs bounced off them, but hey, I know this is airsoft.

I don't mean to be a prude but I play airsoft with my son and the language I heard at times was a bit much. Honestly, if we can not find a better way of expressing ourselves we are in deep trouble.
I spoke to a few mods, and suggested in the future when someone lets out a barrage of flame out of their mouth instead of their gun they need to be sent back to base to start over. I understand a slip of the lip from time to time but ..........

Anyway, it seems most of this came from the same group anyway.
We really enjoyed the day and look forward to playing again in the future.

We really enjoyed running with the recon team at the end. Go Bravo!!!!!!!!

After a busy weekend of airsoft, I finally feel like doing this. Here is my take on the game.
Pros:
1--Great turnout, lots of new people
2--Different style of game, no points, all about how much of the field you controlled
3--Seeing old friends and meeting new players.

Cons:
1--attitudes, LEAVE them at home
2--Language--airsoft is a sport that has all ages. I heard way too many MF, GD. Any game I run, there will be repercussions for loud outbursts.
3--Disrespect--I had several younger players talk to me like I was nobody. I am 42 yrs old. I deserve the respect because of that alone. The younger crowd needs to learn how to talk to older people properly, or don't come.

The weekend started with this game. It was only the beginning. I ended up driving over 450 miles before I got back home. I was completely happy with the way Bravo handled themselves being out numbered 2 to 1. This made us be on our heels most of the day. I know that there was a lot of firefights all around. Bravo had a target rich environment. Great idea for a game Ninja.
There were some incidents on the field that could have been avoided by people listening to the safety briefing.
On the last note. To the child that ripped off his vest at the end and wanted to fight. You are now in the view of all mods. We will be watching you. There is no place for that on the field. Check your attitude. If you can't handle getting shot, then don't come and ruin the game for people that want to be there.
I love the Corps for those intangible possessions that cannot be issued: pride, honor, integrity, and being able to carry on the traditions for generations of warriors past.  [Cpl. Jeff Sornig, USMC; in Navy Times, November 1994]

I think one of the best parts of the day was when Bravo rushed SB and we ended up capturing like 20 some odd alpha players and made them hike to our HQ then all the way back to theirs to respawn :D that was a satisfying victory in my book :D

FYI, every problem mentioned in this thread was caused by a small group of players. They have been warned by AOSC staff. We made it clear that this behavior will not be tolerated, and the players in question are on a very short leash. They will be receiving bans the next time they cause any problems, you can be sure.

Other than that, I had a great time and the game went very well. Storming the tower right before lunch was probably the highlight, followed closely behind by laying under the ramp at South Base while 20+ Alpha "searched" the place, declared it clear, and ran off to the village. To the final three Alpha guys in the Tower right before lunch: if you do not want to be shot in the face, either show me something else or wear a mask; and if you want me to call a safety kill on you, don't be facing me and trying to draw your gun. Both of you should reread the rules, I carry a 0 MED sidearm for a reason. Don't get all pissy with me when I am well within the rules and you get a little butthurt.

For the record, I didn't have a problem with trent not calling his hits all afternoon. I did have a few problems with some other people, but I feel like trent was calling his hits the once or twice he got hit during the afternoon. Other than that, we had quite a fun firefight there. Lol, those boards in the radar tower saved me quite a few times, seeing trent's bbs coming my way just watch them hit the board in front of me, so very lucky. lol.

As for the rest of the day, the morning was rough. We were pushed back hard, I was instructed to flank green but it failed, partially due to being shot by my own team, and then we were simply over run after they left the air field and tower. I went back to respawn to find that my experimental hop up had failed, last time I let dom handle my guns *cough* *cough* lol. Anyway, then it was lunch time. Somewhere in the middle Ajax was killed and respawned at our HQ and pushed alpha back to the air field.

After lunch, I was assigned to lead a group out to the radar station to take it quickly and defend it. We succeeded quickly, as we got there first. We fought them hard, and eventually had them pushed back, as the rest of bravo followed them. During this assault, I was again instructed to help with a flanking maneuver, got shot, and got captured. However, i was able to get shot and bleed out before I was executed. I went back and respawned at the radar station and stayed put for a while. Anyway, it was down to myself, my father, and Felix, and we became assaulted by a large alpha force. It seemed like it was about 20 at first. The three of us fought hard and eventually they started leaving. There was a forth bravo that showed up somewhere in there, but I don't remember what he did very well. Anyway, alpha eventually dwindled down to trent, Cleric, and a few others. We were almost out of ammo when we finally got some back up and were able to take the time to reload. But we didn't get back up till less than an hour before the game ended.

Tempers flared at the end of the day due to some miss communication. All in all, it was a very good day, and ran much better than most AOSC games I've been to. Besides the outbreak at the end of the day, trent's incident was quite uncalled for, and is a problem. I'd like to reiterate it again, Leave the attitudes at home, this is just a game, be honorable when you play it or don't play. This is a game based on honor.

I really enjoyed the capture mechanic, that was a fun, good idea imo. Well done on a great game Ninja.

To be fair I just found out that I had been hit in the vest and I did not hear or feel them so I did not call them. That's when Echo1 operator came down and shot me at such close range and to be honest, I don't blame him. It was my fault for not calling my hits. I feel really bad about the whole situation and in the end I feel like since I broke the rules what he did was justified as far as I'm concerned.

Eh, he may have been justified in doing it, but he still should have given you a better reason than he did when you asked him about it.

Great day! Legs still feel it. Yep, I've got years on ALL of you.

Before the game...
Star_folder and I got to the field about 8:20ish and were greeted by about 25-30 Alpha. Star_folder was already wearing our ACU compatible camo. At that time, there might have been 1 or 2 others wearing Bravo colors. As the cars rolled in Alpha's numbers continue to grow at a much higher rate than Bravos.

Went up and registered, changed into my ACU compatible camo, then went over to the chrono. Found out that Star_folder was running it, who had releaved Gambler so he could finish his breakfast. I relieved Star_folder because he needed to continue to setup for the game.
I had some good laughs and very briefly met some of the players. Interesting (at least to me) tidbits from the chronoing...
1. We found out that the .25s of Madbulls were compromised.
2. I thought most guns would chrono below the 300 using .25s, but that would be incorrect. Most guns chrono'd with a 20ft med.
3. Next time I run chrono and Smitty is playing, I'm bringing a metal detector. I think he forgot to chrono that gas derringer he had strapped to his ankle.
4. Everyone had a good attitude during chrono. Even those behind Smitty and all his guns. (as a side note, I actually watched him use most of them during action early in the game at the Village)
5. I told some young guy that it was an additional $10 fee for his "extra" guns and after chronoing, he went (unknown to me) and attempted to pay it. I don't recall his name but I know his face. He came back and told me and I had quite a laugh but people, that's what it is all about, being honest.
6. Most of the gas pistols chrono'd high. By high, I mean 20 and 50 foot MEDs. One even chrono'd with a 100 foot MED. The gentlemen decided to not use it Saturday.

The game...
I missed most of the briefing and the first part of the game because of the chronoing and just getting the final touches of my gear together. I got updated on some of the capture rules from some Alpha stragglers (thanks guys) before heading onto the field with my deadrag on.

Headed to the village to check in and it was already under siege. This is where Smitty and a handful of other Bravo were holding court. I quickly crossed the creek, removed the deadrag and returned, taking up residence in a building to Smitty's left as we engaged numerically superior Alpha forces who had South Base. Alpha tried numerous times to take the village and each time were repulsed by the much smaller Bravo force. My lease expired on my residence (aka forgot to bring enough ammo) and I headed back to the parking lot and got distracted for much of the rest of the morning until almost lunch. When I returned to the battle, Bravo held South Base, and the Village, and was attacking the Tower, which fell to Bravo just before lunch.

After lunch, the small group I was with, was assigned to take and hold the "Radar" station. What started as about 10 people quickly/eventually dropped to 3-4 for most of the afternoon. Star_folder, Felix, McCoy (I think) and my self held the radar all afternoon. Yes, Star_folder went out venturing early (got captured/killed/multiple times) when we had a larger force and that group succumbed and captured by a much larger Alpha force. Apparently all were executed. Felix was not in the original group but came over to respawn during a lull in the wave after wave of Alpha attacks on the Radar station and like it so much decided to stick around. McCoy floated in an out.
I told Star_folder later that it reminded me of the WWII movie "Sahara" where we were the Allies and Alpha was the Axis.
Every wave Alpha sent was repulsed. When they tried going "East" or "West", Felix and/or McCoy headed them off. Every once in a while someone would check over the radio about who had the radar station and each time I replied Bravo. Anyone pushing up the middle was quickly eliminated. Somewhere in all the assaults I got hit. After being medic'd by Star_folder, I quickly eliminated a couple more Alphas. That's when Star_folder told me I still had my deadrag on. Opps! That can cause troubles. It was quickly removed. After much of the afternoon, Star_folder and I were splitting mags between us because we were so low on ammo. I am not sure of the ammo status of McCoy and Felix but I'm sure they must have been running really low too. Finally, it appeared that most of Alpha decided to push on leaving only a handful behind to harass us at the Radar station, about that time we got some top notch Bravo reinforcements. We were then able to raise the deadrags on (or chase off) the last few remaining Alphas but one did take me out. (Star_folder covered some more of this in his post)

We then headed over to the Airfield, and as we got there the game was called.

Overall good game.

I was behind the "restricted area" when I shot the building with the rocket. It was a glorious 150ish yard shot with that bazooka. I apologize for the booing, I'm not used to the medic rule in the AOSC and got caught up in the moment of landing that shot.
